Here I was all set to post about how enjoyable "Jurassic World" was and I got distracted by the story out of Spokane, WA where it's come to the fore that the chapter president of the NAACP has lied about being African American.

And this video at the 1:30 mark show Rachel Dolezal get caught up in her lie.
As people brought up white Socialists founded the NAACP and there's nothing wrong at all with a non-Black person or even non-PoC heading up the group, but it's the lie. Why lie? She said this man was her father.
Her actual parents
In the interview she mentions her kids. Her parents say that she is passing off her two adopted Black siblings as her kids.
Her commitment was strong
If I hadn't seen her younger pics I would never have questioned her ethnicity. We come in all hues. Genetics is funny that way. My grandmother's cousin looked like Mary Tyler Moore and I've seen both of her parents not a light-skin between them.
It's why some can get away with being "other"

Genetics means that Lester Holt's son Stefan doesn't really look like Lester's son.
Speaking of Lester Holt, he may be getting Brian Williams' gig permanently. Ratings have been steady since Holt replaced Williams as the host of NBC Nightly News. NBC is looking to give Williams another gig an let Holt keep the chair. Being smart Holt is reportedly negotiating to get William's 10 million dollar salary. Stefan's dad is no dummy.

~Unrelated to this whole chicanery, I know people watch and enjoy "Sense8". I've watched a few scenes but it's like John Cameron's Mitchell's "Shortbus" but without the appeal...and with awful writing...and even worse acting.
But I learned something from this orgy scene: Fatboy Slim (with Macy Gray" first recorded the song "Demons". I thought they covered it from The Blind Boys of Alabama. I love both versions equally.
