The TCAs and the PCAs. Sadly no T & A...

Jan 13, 2015 02:16

~While the CW went on a renewal spree Sunday during the TCAs CBS’ Nina Tassler is holding her cards o her vest. CBS has only announced the renewal of three shows:

“NCIS: New Orleans”, “Madame Secretary” and “Scorpion”. Tassler has said that their freshman comedy “The McCarthys” has done good numbers for them but they have yet to decide if it will be renewed. She also said that “The Amazing Race’ and Halle Berry’s “Extant” have been asked to make changes in order to boost their ratings.

I like “Scorpion” and “Madame Secretary” so the pickups are good news. It’s also good news for the stars of those shows seeing as Tea Leoni and Elyes Gabel are dating their costars.

Elyes and Kat

If “Hostage” is renewed that’s good for new couple Maggie Q. and Dylan McDermott

~Other things that came out of the TCAs is:

*Showtime is going forward with their “Twin Peaks” revivial with Kyle MacLachlan returning.

*”Shameless” has been renewed for a 6th season!

*Mark Pedowitz is acting like they haven’t come to a decision on to renew “Hart of Dixie”. Maybe he should let Wilson Bethel and Scott Porter know that since in October they all but said the show was ending.

*that he with the great, silky hair Steven R. McQueen is leaving “The Vampire Diaries”.

The show’s co-creator/showrunner Julie Plec made sure to say he would no longer be a regular as if that means he’d just be recurring, but it looks like L’il J(eremy)will finally leave Mystic Falls. I can think of four characters on that damn show he needs to take with him.

He’s been practically begging “Arrow” and “The Flash” EP Greg Berlanti to bring him on “The Flash” as Dick Grayson. Maybe he’ll get his chance.

A few months ago hater extraordinaire L’il Ian Somerhalder indicated that a regular was leaving the show and people assumed it would be Ian. That fool took forever to get over being killed off “Lost” I doubt he’s leaving the show.

“Why was I the first one to go? I don’t get it. My eyes matched the Hawaiian seas

Most people think it’ll be Lucas Luthor Paul Wesley

Eyebrows McGillicuddy has mocked storylines on the show a lot and right now his character Stefan is spinning his wheels. But if he does leave I’ll miss those rare brotherly bonding moments.

*Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell who were on the “Flash” and “Arrow” panel

along with other guest stars Robbie “The Good Actor” Amell, Victor Garber, Brandon Routh and Matt Nable

told journalists that the two of them have floated the idea of a return of “Prison Break” to FOX and according to Wentworth there is some interest there.

The Brothers Schofield were interviewed by Buzzfeed http://www.buzzfeed.com/jarettwieselman/behind-the-prison-break-reunion-on-the-flash?utm_term=.lawYj3Pel#.vj7LpO2LX
about reconnecting on “Flash”.

Wentworth: During my first episode, in a conversation with [DC Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer] Geoff Johns, he said, “We’re trying to cast this Heat Wave character. He’s this hothead, aggressive, unpredictable, force of nature. Are there any actors you can think of?” I said. “Dominic Purcell.” I was 90% serious, 10% joking, because I didn’t think they could pull it off or that they would even be interested in such a pairing - not knowing they were huge Prison Break fans. They must have made the call that afternoon.

Dominic: They did. … Wentworth dropped me an email and asked if I would be interested and I said, “Fuck yeah!” To work with Wentworth again? Yes. I was just excited to see Wentworth. It wasn’t about The Flash; it was about reconnecting with him and having a blast. Now that I’m on the show, I’m very thankful that the show is the success that it is. I’m humbled by it, I appreciate it, I love the cast, and it allows us to be operatic. As actors, that’s all you ever really want to do: You want to go big!

Was that (chemistry) immediately there again when you reconnected for The Flash?

Dominic: Yeah.

Wentworth:It’s intuitive at this point.

Dominic: Exactly. It’s intuition and instinct. It’s like a married couple, the couple that fucking lasts 80 years together. When I look at an old lady and an old man holding hands, I’m like, How the fuck did you do that? And they can’t explain it. It’s just an innate thing and that’s the same with Wentworth and I. I will always work with Wentworth in anything he wants to do.

*David Ramsey tweeted this picture with the caption “Being VERY careful how I answer the questions at the Television Critics Association”. One of the questions asked was if having a black character on “Arrow” was important”.

Look at the faces of everyone in the back row

*There’s also talk of an Atom spinoff starring Brandon who apparently has been crushing it on “Arrow” in the recurring role.

Says “Arrow” executive producer Marc Guggenheim: ”The thing that we’ve been talking about is just how do we further expand the universe; and we love Brandon and we love having him on Arrow,""Brandon’s so terrific and embodies the role so well that when we talk about how to further expand things, he’s a natural person to talk about.

Brandon’s smile is bigger than his son’s

*Victor Garber will play the other half of Robbie Amell’s Firestorm. Not his better half, mind you. No, Garber’s better half is hottie Viking dude model/painter Rainer Andreesen.

Victor, how you snag Thor?

In early 2014 with Colton Haynes

Rainer’s art

Hey, I know you!

*I’m loving “The Flash” for its light feel. Hopefully things are lighter for series’ star Grant Gustin who was all up in his feelings not too long ago.

I wonder if he’s hurt because his brother is better looking than he is.

Other Gustin looking good

Baby bros

~So SPN fans really cut up on Twitter trying to goad Jensen into contacting Tom Welling to gloat over S11.

You’re pushing it, dude

Someone even tweeted, “Who is Tom Welling and why do we hate him?” But that’s okay. That’s fine because there’s going to be a renewed focus of ire in that fandom. Like some people think that J2 are jealous that Misha won a People’s Choice Award since they didn’t congratulate Misha.

Know who’s a good sport about the PCAs?

~The Paley Fest is coming up in March and The Paley Center for Media has released the names of three of the panels. Being feted this year are.

*”Queer as Folk” is having its ten year reunion at the ATX festival in Austin.

What makes it notable for me is that the show’s creator Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipman (lovingly and sometimes hatefully referred to as CowLip) will be at hand. They’ve been absent from public since the show ended.

Other panels will include “The Gilmore Girls” and “Dawson’s Creek” writers reunion.
