*The Smallville vets who attended Comic Con this year included Kristin Kreuk, Aaron Ashmore, actor/Sumo wrestler Jensen Ackles, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Tyler Posey (supporting “Teen Wolf”), Jessica Parker Kennedy (supporting Starz new pirate series “Black Sails”), Shawn Ashmore (supporting “X-Men: Days of Future’s Past” and “The Following”), Sarah Carter (supporting “Falling Skies”), Kim Coates (supporting “Sons of Anarchy”), writers , Jeph Loeb (supporting “Revolution”) and Caroline Dries (supporting “The Vampire Diaries”) and “Smallville” producer/director Greg Beeman (supporting “Falling Skies”) and Bryan Q. Miller ( supporting “Smallville S11 comic”. Also it’s been announced that he’s been hired to do a graphic novel based on Disneyland’s Space Mountain ride).

While not in attendance a bit of Kyle Gallner (Bart/Kid Flash) news was announced. Kyle will appear in a few eps of “The Walking Dead”. With Kyle’s film and TV track record it won’t be a happy ending for his character.
*The fan revelry started off on Friday morning when the cast of “Teen Wolf” made their way to San Diego by train.

Fans took pictures of the cast on the train and disembarking in San Diego. One fan tweeted a pic with the caption “Unbelievably cute, unbelievably nice. Unbelievably drunk”. It’s a three-hour train ride from L.A to San Diego. What else is there to do besides drink? I mean, they could give each other handjobs but fandom will never have it that good.

When he booked the role his TV dad Linden Ashby proudly tweeted that the studio really wanted Dylan because they pushed back his shooting schedule to accommodate his “Teen Wolf” commitments.

Besides Colton, Emily Betts and Manu Bennett (Manu was slated to be on the panel but had to cancel) being made show regulars this season, it was announced that that Michael Jai White (“Spawn”, “Why Did I Get Married” will appear on the show as Bronze Tiger and Kevin Alejandro (“Southland”, “True Blood”) will appear as Sebastian Blood.
And in a “Smallville”-esque twist the show has cast Caity Lotz as Black Canary…even though Katie Cassidy plays Laurel Lance who, in the comics, is Black Canary.

Andrew Kreisberg, one of the executive producers of the show clarified the casting. “Everyone knows that Laurel Lance is the Black Canary ... But how we get from A to B is the story of our show ... Laurel Lance right now is a lawyer with a lot of heart and a lot of humanity and courage. But it takes more than that to put on the mask and go out and fight crime. Our series is the evolution of that. People will see how Caity Lotz fits into Laurel's journey along the way. For us, it's very emotional and surprising and exciting. I would say to everybody, we haven't let you down so far. Keep going on this ride with us.”
It’s been weeks since SDCC so I now know how it will go down. Still don’t care. It was also announced at the Television Critics Association The Flash/Barry Allen will come to “Arrow”, thus making way for a potential “Flash” series.

Funny enough the wild casting rumors for Batman have gone from “Teen Wolf”s Tyler Hoechlin. Contrary to rumors he has not screen-tested.

If Colton were going to play Robin to Tyler’s Batman it’d be Jason Todd’s Robin because he’s all about getting under Tyler’s hood. And when I say hood I’m not insinuating that Tyler H is uncircumcised (though that would be sooo nice) Colton wants to get under those clothes and wants to use Tyler H’s body hair as a scrub brush all over his body.

Tyler Posey chimed in at the Teen Choice Awards on why Hoechlin deserves the role.

Now we all are aware that the role has gone to Ben Affleck. At one point Josh Brolin’s name was mentioned as a contender but people speculated he wouldn’t get it since Diane Lane will be in the film and the two are divorcing. I would think if he was in the running she’d push for it; she would want some of that franchise alimony.

A question posed to the panelists was about how their characters would die. Harington responded, “How he would like to see his character die, should it come to that: “It would be a Sunday afternoon. Jon would be 85 years old, resting his head peacefully … on the side of a big iron chair.”
Actually Kit should change his perception of the iron throne. An illustrator rendered a sketch of the Iron Throne to the specifications George R.R Martin visualizes as the real iron throne.

*During Comic Con celebs decided to not let the fans have all the fun and took part in cosplay. Hugh Jackman says he walked around as Wolverine and the only thing people said to him was “Not bad” and “Too tall”. Michael McMillan of “True Blood” did the littlest by going as a “True Blood” fan.

*Every year Comic Con grows bigger and the lines get longer and frustration grows stronger. There’s been suggestions that maybe Comic Con should livestream panels which will cut down on the crowds. I know for me I’m all about the interaction and the experience and being in the room. Maybe if they would live-stream inside the convention center it would be a better choice. Until they figure out the livestreaming issue there’s still Youtube on which a good number of the panels can be found (minus the clips/footage that was shown during the panels).
So the “Game of Thrones” panel is up where you can see Jason Momoa (who was at Comic Con in support of the film “Wolves”) crashed the panel to plant a kiss on Emilia Clarke and declare “I’m not dead, George!”

*It was announced at Comic Con that Naveen Andrews will be playing Aladdin’s Jafar on the show.
and that Roger Daltrey will reprise his hooka smoking caterpiller role from an OUAT ep. John Lithgow will voice the White Rabbit (replacing Paul “Pee Wee Herman” Reubens).
OUAT: Wonderland is currently conceived as a limited run series with 13 upfront and 13 on the back end. But I suspect like CBS’ “Under the Dome” if it’s successful they will reup for more eps.
*Their could’ve been a “Lost” mini-reunion at SDCC since Naveen, Josh Holloway, Evangeline Lily, Henry Ian Cusick, Michael Emerson, Ian Somerhalder, Nestor Carbonell, Elizabeth Mitchell and Emilie de Ravin were all in attendance for various panels. ~When I heard they were remaking “Ironside” I spoke to my friend who works in diversity and asked him opinion of an non-disabled person taking on the role of someone physically challenged. I think it’s as offensive as casting a non-PoC in a role written for a PoC. He said traditionally studios will hire someone who is actually physically challenged to train the actor on how to act realistically. So you lose a job but you gain one. I argued that an actor who is physically challenged wants to be the one in the starring role. It’s not sufficient to be behind the scenes. That’s what they trained for-to act. They deserve that opportunity to apply their training in they way they yearn for. How “Ironside” will differ from “Glee” is that “Ironsides” will have flashbacks prior to his accident so they needed a non-disabled actor in the role.
