I'm back from seeing Silver Linings Playbook or Excelsior!but not Lex and Ollie's Old School and Doing it Old School Under the Bed covers.

It would've been way better had it been *that* Excelsior.

In SLP, Mr. Russell didn't even bother to write a part for Jennifer Lawrence, she just had to improvise and look inscrutable.

It was Manic Pixie Girl without the Pixie.

She had as much character as Pat's Ex-wife---not much. Why did any of them other than Julia Stiles and her character do anything? I don't know.

I have to see if Jacki Weaver got a nom for this role because I don't see how Jen Lawrence did but I really can't see how Jacki Weaver would've when all she did was stand around and ocassionally referee.

None of it made any sense. Miss Lawrence's character, Tifani?, was the male idea of a mysterious film noir woman. Or Tifani was a twelve year old boy's idea of Womanhood. I just can't describe how much I hated the character, but Miss Lawrence was game and did her best with what she didn't have in the script.

There was nothing there. I don't see how any of the characters fell in love with each other. They were like cardboard cut outs.

But there was nothing in the script for her either.

Which is why I don't get why everyone I know has been pushing me to see the film. It's so basic and uninspired.

Pat's best friend was good, I was enjoying his frustrations with his marriage and his life.

I liked that character alot.

Mr. DeNiro just laid back and let his character slowly unfold with craziness that was comparable with his son's Crazy.

That was a nice parallel. For all their worries about Cooper's character his father basically is paralyzed by his odd belief that he can make things happen.

Bradley Cooper was Hot and Adorable even when he was annoying. Me Likey.

He was SO annoying. That wife thing drove me crazy. I can see why it happened to Pat.

Thanks for the picture bio of James Dean. You have never watched Rebel Without a Cause? Girl, get streaming! There is a classic triangle: Mr. Dean and Natalie Wood and Mr. Dean and Sal Mineo. And it is acknowledged in the film.

I've never seen Rebel, I know, I know. It's a classic. One day.

Lex and Ollie used to watch Rebel Without a Cause and play all three parts. Sometimes James Dean got the Girl and sometimes he got the Boy and Lex and Ollie always got lucky. ;-)

Oliver the sexy cad. I love it. Know we know why Oliver went back to the reunion. He was hoping to reignite somethng.
