I am SO TIRED of George Clooney. Something I never thought I'd say, but there it is.
I think it's because--at least for me--it's because he's reached that Al Pacino level of being more of a persona than an actor. I think he gets alot of love because "Hey, he's the merry prankster! He has a cool pad in Lake Como!" then being a good actor. Which he is, but I think critics reflect more on how much they like him than how he is as an actor. Plus he plays the same role with just slight different permutations. That said: I loved "Ides of March" and he was great in every capacity.
Sad Ryan didn't get another nom but he retains his indie cred.
Granted "Drive" wasn't much of a actor role for him but "Ides of March" was. And he was way better IMO in "Ides of March" and "Drive" than "Half Nelson".
Also sad for Fassbender & JGL but oh well.
Joe, I felt would be a crap shoot but Fassbender?? I am shocked! Shocked and appalled. I haven't seen "Shame" but still...
I'm happy for Christopher Plummer and Gary Oldman (although I didn't like Tinker at all) but not really rooting for anyone else.
I liked the actors in TTSS,but that's about it. I didn't think Gary did much of anything but I was rooting for him.
Wow, that pic of Elizabeth Olsen as Liz Taylor is astounding! Projects are in the work with either Lindsay Lohan or Megan Fox supposed to play her but that pic convinces me! (Although those kind of biopics are usually awful.)
OMG, Nooo. Lohan and Fox cannot *CANNOT* play that role.
