~Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character in “The Dark Knight Rises” has been announced. Since after “Inception”, Joe’s involvement in the film had been discussed, long before negotiations took place. Fans wanted him to play Edward Nigma, “The Riddler”. He was rumored to be playing Thomas Eliot (Hush) or Alberto Falcone, the Holiday Killer. Now it’s been announced that Joe’s playing a character named John Blake, a beat cop who is assigned a special duty by newly appointed Commissioner James Gordon (Gary Oldman).
Hopefully he’ll be assigned to go undercover as a prostitute and have sex with Tom Hardy’s Bane.

Finally confirmed in a role is Marion Cotillard.
The scuttlebutt was that she would play Talia Al Ghul (which would’ve been so hot) or even Catwoman, but Marion’s pregnancy curtailed the rumors of her involvement. It’s now been announced that Marion will play Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member who wants Bruce Wayne to continue his father's philanthropic efforts.
This makes four “Inception” cast member in TDKR: Marion, Joe, Hardy and Sir Michael Caine. Says Christopher Nolan, "When you collaborate with people as talented as Marion and Joe, it comes as no surprise that you would want to repeat the experience. I immediately thought of them for the roles of Miranda and Blake."
Talk is also of Nestor Carbonell returning as the Mayor of Gotham.
*Joe was recently in Shanghai promoting “Looper” starring himself, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels and Piper Perabo. It’s written and directed by Rian Johnson who wrote and directed “Brick” which Joe starred (great film BTW.Also starring another “Inception” actor, Lukas Haas.) The synopsis is ”A killer who works for the mob of the future recognizes one of his targets as his future self.”

The annual music festival featured performances by The Arcade Fire, Mumford and Sons, Cee Lo Green, Interpol, Kings of Leon, The Strokes and Elvis Costello, Duran Duran and the headliner was Kanye West who from all reports did a stunning performance that showcased Kanye the artist versus the bombastic personality.
Oh, and a lot of C Listers were there.

FOX has no room to go after the extra because they don’t have extras sign non-disclosures, which will certainly now be something all studios will look into. This comes on the heels of Summit Entertainment suing ten people for leaking photos from the upcoming “Breaking Dawn”, the blessedly last edition of “Twilight”.
~His Royal Fierceness has been busy. In between the drinking of imported beer and checking antique shops for just the right antique camera to take artsy photos like the tortured artist he is inside, Thomas Dekker has shot a pilot (“Secret Circle”), is seeing the premiere of his HBO film “Cinema Verite” where he portrays Lance Loud of the Loud Family, the first “reality show” participants and is also preparing to direct a film from a script he wrote about teenaged prostitutes and hustlers (he’s so deep. It’s being produced by Christine Vachon who wrote the indie producers’ bible, Shooting to Kill, so he has a great partner in this). This Fierce motherfather gave an interview with Out magazine where he comes out as straight but not narrow

~Since we’re on the topic of TV the kids of West Beverly are back! I really missed the gang (except for Annie. She’s the worst.). Someone posted the scenes of Trevor Donovan and Alan Ritchson on Sunday night and I watched it thinking I had missed a new episode last week. Turns out a Canadian channel aired the new episode early so I spoiled myself for Monday night. Watching the only Teddy scenes made me realize how much I love the show as a whole. It’s so much better when they’re all interacting with each other.
*Since Trevor was really nice to take a picture for me I won’t remark about how stilted he was and his itsy bitsy teen tiny nipples.

~ One major issue at “Criminal Minds” has been resolved as many others lay unresolved. Ed Bernero, the show’s creator has left the show to do another pilot for CBS. As his departure was announced, the return of AJ Cook was reported. AJ was written out the show due to budgetary issues. They also reduced Paget Brewster’s role on the show. Paget is tentatively still with the show, but if the pilot she shot gets picked up, she will more than likely take it as it’ll be a regular role versus the recurring status she has on “Criminal Minds”. The contract negotiations between CBS and Shemar Moore and Thomas Gibson are still ongoing. The only ones who are locked in now are Kristen Vangness who is doing double duty on “Criminal Minds” and its spinoff, AJ who is signed for two seasons and Matthew Gray Gubler who still had time on his contract.
Speaking of the quirky and adorkable Gube, he was recently featured in a spread for Vogue featuring Dave Franco, Dakota Fanning and Max Irons.
~“Psych” returns in June with a Very Special Guest Star. NKOTB’s Joey McIntyre will play a cop in an episode that Gus and Shawn believe lives a criminal secret life.
Joey’s NKOTB partner Donnie has played a cop a few times, including now in the show “Blue Bloods”
