Happy New Year everyone! I hope you enjoyed your holidays. What did you do? Was the weather cold, rainy, snowy or any other biblical disastrous sort of weather that’s been hitting the country?
Went to San Francisco for Christmas to see my sister and spend time with her baby…

*I tried to tell her that if she was going for a futuristic look she should look for something volatile and daring like Nona Hendryx but she wouldn’t listen to me.
But I wasn’t really planning on going there. I didn’t want my mom to feel bad about me not being with her. I didn’t plan on her calling everyone and telling them that I was visiting the Bay, so next thing I know my mom called me with names of people who wanted me to visit them when I was in town, so I had to carry through. Which was great because I was able to visit family and play board games (my cousin was pitting me against people at Scene It, but I got smoked at Catchphrases) and see the City which has changed so much in the years I’ve been gone (making me feel like a tourist).
There’s a shirt I plan on buying ( I should’ve bought it when I saw it) that reads “I Hella <3 S.F” and I do. Now I’m content in L.A, but one day San Francisco will be my home again.

I said, “But I want to meet him for a TV series!” Finally he came in and I took him to the network and coached him. I actually shot him myself in my office and went through a long process of helping to get him on TV.

~Feel good story of the week for me. Yesterday Questlove, drummer of The Roots/prolific Twitter-er posted a link to a Youtube video about a homeless man, Ted Williams, with a “golden radio voice”. Now, I’m not saying Questo kicked this whole thing off, but when Questo tweets, people listen…or rather retweet. The video made the rounds and 24 hours later the man was offered a job and a home. I was really touched by the video because everyone has a story. People are more than their current circumstances. The person shooting the video asked him about his voice (as touching as the video is, it infuriates me when the guy shooting the vid tells Ted, “I’m going to make you work for this dollar. Moron.) and he talks about hearing people on the radio when he was younger and how that affected him. Then drugs and alcohol took over his life. It’s a true blessing that this has happened. See, the interwebs is more than snark and porn…sometimes.
