Papa Winchesters, Oscars Glam....

~There’s this little event on Sunday called the Oscars and it will be hosted by this very attractive and very fit Aussie named Hugh Jackman.

This year the Academy of Arts and Sciences have changed it up a bit. There will be limited red-carpet coverage because they want to feature designers during the telecast (IIRC). They have also kept mum on who will present so that people will tune in. It’s because of this that Bruce Vilanch has taken to the press and spoke of presenters backing out. Because they’re not publicly committed to it, they’re finding it easy to back out. Who knew presenting at the Oscars was such a hardship?

Other info that has leaked is that there will be performances by Beyonce, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. I wish I were lying.

~Ion9 has a Kristin Kreuk interview and “Street Fighter” clips. The final question that is asked of her is if she was bothered that the SV writers began hinting at Lana's having a bigger destiny after Kristin left the show (she didn't think about it), but she did say, "It would have been nice to have that development for Lana, not necessarily with superpowers."

Even Kristin gets it.

~Papa Winchester cannot, will not stop working.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is in negotiations to star in another Vertigo/DC Comics adaptation, “The Losers”. “The Losers” follows a special-forces team betrayed by their handler and left for dead. The Losers regroup for revenge, the chance to remove their names from a secret CIA death list and to conduct covert operations against the CIA. JDM’s character “Clay” (like Jared’s in “Friday the 13th!) is the group’s leader, whose signature is black suits without ties.

The script is being worked on by James Vanderbilt and Peter Berg. So there you go, Papa Winchester in a suit and working off of a Peter Berg script. How perfect this this?

No word yet on the release of the (at least) three other films he’s completed, including “The Accidental Husband” with Colin Firth and Uma Thurman.

Chace Craword was moderately enjoying fashion week (as was Kanye West, Jared Leto and Patrick Wilson

He has himself a little free suit from Armani

When Suddenly…

No. Oh, no. No, no, no, no. Please don’t come over here, please…

Oh, hi Giorgio Armani!

Hard lesson learned: a free suit still has a price.

~More fashionable women
Other than Tracee Ellis Ross, it’s a bit too casual. But the event was a luncheon thrown by Alfre Woodard for Taraji P. Henson so I will excuse it.

Samuel Jackson and Kerry Washington

Tracee Ellis Ross looking smashing

Nichelle Nichols

The young gals: Eva Marcelle, Tia Mowry, Lauren London and Kayla Pratt

Niecy Nash. This is how she always dresses, but I’m going to pretend that she’s going for a 1940s glam look so that she can get extra points

Sanaa Latham. I’m on the fence about this dress: it’s a bit too old for her, but it’s cute.

Jurnee Smollet always looks beautiful

Kenya Moore, whoever she is, looks great in the dress, but her entire look screams, "Going clubbing".

I have no opinion on the outfit, just put her here to say that she's the worst actress outside of Scarlett Johanssen

Meagan Good. No

Kerry Washington usually underwhelms, but the feathers is a nice look

CCH Pounder

Beautiful women who just aren’t trying: Garcelle Beauvis, Gina Torres and Victoria Rowell

I saw Gina leaving the movie theater at the Grove one afternoon with her baby-she’s very lovely, but she was looking worn that day

Vivica Fox

Diahann Carroll doesn’t have to dress up or brush her hair. She’s Diahann Carroll! She was on “Dynasty!”

By nature of it being Halle Berry, people always say she’s the best dressed, but I think Taraji looks better than Halle. Halle has this tulle bow in the back that is too overdone

Taraji and Mom

“Fresh Prince of Bel Air’s Tatayana Ali. No. This ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ isn’t working for me.

Tia Mowry with Tichina Arnold

My favorite dress so far this recent awards period is this one of Tia Mowry. It’s simple with the lace closure and then the starburst accent is a cute touch that breaks it apart from a standard simple black dress. Good job, Twin

Estelle (not at the luncheon) Normally I would hate this because it looks odd with the bows and the puffiness, but damn if it doesn’t work on her. Her attitude sells it.

~~And there’s no one more fashionable than
Here are two of my soon to be acquisitions.

Alvin Ailey Barbie. She’s majestic!

Julia Barbie. Barbie to celebrate the Diahann Carroll series, “Julia”. She has bendy arms and legs which I won’t be able to use because I’m keeping her in the box, but look at her eyelashes!
