~Jensen Ackles will have to put his game face on and do the talk show circuit. Jensen will be on Jimmy Kimmel ( a date change. He was originally scheduled for the 7th. I think the show will tape on Wed. the 7th) on Thurs. the 8th. Papa Winchester, Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be on Kimmel on the 7th.
Jensen will also appear on E!s Chelsea Lately and Bonnie Hunt on the 9th.
~It looks like "Kerosene Cowboys" really is a go. I've been wondering about the state of filming since Cam Gigadent's been walking around town in a
skirt
utilikilt (and looking smashing while doing so) and he's in the film.
I thought the film was in pre-production since I'd seen notices saying that the shoot was slated for December and January to be completed in February. And on USA's website
for "Monk", it lists that one of the costars is currently shooting "Kerosene Cowboys", but I think the film was delayed because in two different articles I've read it says that shooting will begin in Februrary (in Reno, NV and Russia).
Or they could be shooting in Russia currently and completing the shoot in the Reno this month because casting notices in Backstage and another publication have been posted.
I'll be excited to see Rosenbaum in another feature film, but honestly? I really need to see JC Chasez on the big screen.
~The official poster for "Street Fighter" has been released.

Justin Hartley and Sam Witwer in Starlog Magazine ~"Lipstick Jungle"s castoff, Robert Buckley is coming to CW's "Privileged" for the final two episodes of the season. There has been no word on a second season pick-up so whether or not he'll continue on if the show is picked up isn't known. But if he is, that's really messed up because the CW just cited budget reasons as one of the reasons for Michael Cassidy's departure.
So it's not incest since I'm a clone?
~Warner Bros. and Fox are still squabbling over distribution rights for "Watchmen". I watch in faint amusement.
I look at the various lawsuits that are being heaped against WB: the suit by FOX over "Watchmen", the suit that was just filed by "Gilmore Girls" producer Gavin Polone over profit share for the show, the on-and-off legal battles with the Siegel family over Superboy/Superman and it just reinforces my opinion that huge companies would rather deal with people in court instead of negotiating and dealing in good faith straightaway.
The crux of the WB/FOX battle is that Lawrence Gordon, a producer, retained the rights to "Watchmen". He pitched it and sold it to FOX initially. When FOX passed on the film, the agreement they made with Gordon was that they would get first refusal rights. That is, if he gets the project together but better: get a director they feel confident in, get an actor who would make the film worthwhile, Gordon would have to return to FOX and see if they would buy the project or at the very least, get the chance to distribute the film. 20 odd years later, Gordon gets the project off the ground due to Zack Snyder's involvement and he bypasses FOX and gets the film made.
At various times after the shooting ending (which is suspect on FOX's part), FOX legal contacted WB to tell them, "Hey, this is ours so...uh..stop." From what I've read at no
time during the casting and shooting process did FOX try to stop WB by issuing a cease and desist due to their claims of ownership. By suing after the shooting wrapped, it looks like it's more of a shakedown than any real desire to distrubute the picture. I'm sure once they caught whiff of the buzz emanating from "Watchmen", FOX thought it'd be lucrative to exercise the distribution rights since it looks to be a hit. But by suing and threatening to hold off WB from releasing "Watchmen" on the scheduled March date, they could stave off "Watchmen" at the box office as they release "Wolverine" around the same time. It's really a win/win for FOX. Either way they will get paid and may get a
chance to clear any competition so that "Wolverine" could take the box office in early March.
And considering that FOX didn't sue Gordon, not even for breach of contract, shows that they're after the big payoff and not just teaching this guy a lesson.
It looks like despite WB's protestations that they don't agree with the judge's ruling (yet, it doesn't seem that they have actually explained what they're basing that on. If they're saying they interpret the agreement between FOX and Gordon differently, they've not openingly explained their interpretation, the ruling will stand which personally I agree with, but FOX is threatening to union bust if the Screen Actors Guild goes on strike in a statement they released by saying are thinking about converting their standing SAG shows to SAG's sister union, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) contracts. Which they can't do. They also said should SAG not come to
an agreement with the producers (AMPTP), they would sign their new shows to AFTRA--which they could do, but they're not doing it to be good employers, they're doing it to deter actors from striking and it's a divisive tactic. So FOX could go suck on it for all I care.
