i hadn't NEEEDED to see Frozen in the theatre. i hadn't gone to see Tangled in the theatre (though i had seen Brave). but i was listening to NPR last week (Monday? Tuesday?) and they did a story on how Frozen was simultaneously released in over 100 languages. they compared it Lion King which was translated into 15. how times have changed. :)
they also noted that they now have to run simultaneous releases to prevent piracy. ... also how times have changed.
the interviewer asked how difficult it was to find over 100 Idina Menzels to sing in all those languages. difficult, apparently, but not as hard as one might think. there are talented singers EVERYWHERE. they played a montage of Let It Go beginning with English where each subsequent line was a different singer and language.
there i was, minding my own business in my car, listening to NPR... and completely blown away. i had no idea what was being sung, but i teared up. they didn't even play the whole song, but i knew i had to see it. as soon as i got home, i called TWD at work and asked him out on a date.
so friday night, i met him after work, we we out for cappuccinos and desserts to tide us over, and saw Frozen. i laughed, i jumped, i got worried, i cried (and TWD patted my hand and chuckled at me and said, "you KNOW no one ever dies in a DISNEY movie!" -- WHICH IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE) :P and i loved every minute of it.
afterwards, he went home to feed the staaaarving kitties who had to wait two extra hours for dinner and had already begun contemplating survival methods, while i went to pick up take-out for us hoomins.
it was a Very Good Day. :D
considering the week we had leading up to Friday, it was good to Let It Go. <3 i love him.
