i mean the BIG games. the IMPORTANT games. the really really cute ones on Hallmark and Animal Planet. :D :D :D
Puppy Bowl X and Kitten Bowl ... er... The First!
commentary:
i think Puppy Bowl would do better just to turn the camera on and watch the dogs run around in circles. a little less editing. i can watch a dog run around in more than two second increments. PLEASE.
also, less advertising DURING the game. commercials are okay, but don't shill your stupid Lego and Muppet Movie (yes i said stupid and Muppet in the same sentence) when all i want to do is watch puppies run around. in a circle. TOO COMPLICATED. make commercials, sure. but don't interrupt my puppy time with your commercial time. i feel like Ralphie. "a crummy commercial?!?!"
i also almost don't want to watch the ref eat Twizzlers, but at least there were PUPPIES on the field while he was eating Twizzlers. half point.
Penguin cheerleaders a plus, but they seemed a bit lackluster.
otherwise. OMG. PUPPIES. RUNNING IN CIRCLES! HOW CUTE COULD THIS STUPID AND ADMITTEDLY RIDICULOUS SHOW BE!??!! i love it to pieces.
i also loved the jabs at the other sportsing bowl with the power outage and the Keyboard Cat Cover of Bruno Mars.
Loren really deserved that MVP award. tying the Puppy Bowl record for most scores in any one game!! impressive. Most Valuable Puppy indeed.
i loved the addition of Where Are They Now of famous puppies from the past and how they are doing in their forever homes and the almost boo hoo ending of some of the puppies being carried off the field and the cities and names of their new families. one is Hyattstown, MD and another goes to Wellington, CO. good job and good locations, puppers. happy gotcha day.
but, my favorite part had to be Keyboard Cat. what a winning and ridiculous addition. perfect perfect halftime show. (because watching kittens get dumped on by a mountain of confetti was getting a little stale.) LOL. I LOVE THAT STUPID KEYBOARD CAT!
NOW: onto the Kitten Bowl!
i do not need actresses (?) i do not know sitting on the field for two minutes telling me how cute the kittens are. duh. we know. who are you? move along.
THOSE KITTENS WERE SO CUTE!!! ::dies of cuteness::
especially the cats who climbed the rope-covered goalpost and the benches and ... the crowd boards in the stands. HILARIOUS.
those kittens know how to sports! more than the puppies i should think. man, there were some tackles and actual sportsing going on! i also appreciated how they kept actual touchdown-y like scores.
i also LOVED how they gave them actual sportsing names like Dan Furrino. Should have been Purrino, but that's okay. LULZ. still hilarious. and cute. did i mention CUTE? "penalty: climbing the ref."
i even loved the stupid commentary as if they were actually announcing actual sportsing. Regis Philbin knows no shame. lol
these shows made watching the parts of the actual sportsing game more bearable--which we peeked in a time or two. we called penalties for cuddling, cuteness, and unnecessary RRRROUGHness. by we, i don't actually mean TWD. he just shook his head a lot.
we had The J's over while they visited from New Orleans and they helped in the festivities. mostly we just watched a bunch of movies.
of the game we saw the National Anthem by the opera singer (VERY NICE) and the pre-National Anthem that apparently everyone thinks is our National Anthem sung by Queen Latifah (also very nice!!! she looked so pleased to be singing it and be standing there.)
we saw the now-infamous first 30 seconds of each half. ouch. that was enough.
we missed most of the ads, but who cares, because they're all on TV and YouTube today. and i really don't care about commercials that aren't any good--i trust i will be see the OMG YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS ONE.
we juuuuust missed the halftime show for which i am sort of sad as i heard it was good. but oh well. if i am really invested i will look that up too.
otherwise, the hanging out and eating of food still commenced, and the Cuteness Overload Bowls and movies we watched were all spot on. :D it was a Great Day.
.... i missed the Wild channel uh... Fish Bowl. i can't imagine watching a gold fish in a bowl was entertaining. anyone catch that? haha.
