Drive Fast: a Chuck and Blair season one fanmix

It's been a good four years since I posted anything on here and I'm not entirely sure anybody still even really goes on LiveJournal at all anymore, but I made this mix to post on Tumblr and I figured I'd post it here as well.

You're welcome! Aha, you struck a nerve with Blair/Chuck, I didn't even know I missed them so much! :)

Honestly, if you're not up to date on Gossip Girl... I don't know if it's worth catching up on, haha.
Yeahhhh, I've been gathering that. XD I still click on episode reviews sometimes, because I really did have a love affair with show! I quit sometime in the early-middle of season 4, all I know is I saw 4.08 because I know I really enjoyed that one. It just got so tiring, the way the writers would jump from one dynamic to another. Sometimes they'd even strike on good ideas but two episodes later, everything would change! XD Anyway, I heard the Blair characterization was especially terrible this last season (ugh, I wouldn't relish watching that) but I'm tempted to maybe marathon everything I missed, so I can finish up the show with everyone. :)

the Chuck and Blair of Season one is NOT all about angst! It's so much more than that: sexyfallinginlovedenial and pretend hate. There's enough angst in season two, gosh. And then later in seasons 3-5.
YES. God, I wish the writers would have kept in mind how much they reveled in snide comments and sexytimes and finding excuses to wear coordinated formal wear in the early days and scaled back on their later buckets of angst. I have nothing against angst! It's fun too! But in the proper proportion, not for like a season at a time. Interrupted by five episodes of happy and then another season. XD

I think one of my favorite things about them is that their love budded from first having a sexual relationship (and a friendship before that), and I feel like the cliche in general is love before sex, which is something I agree with in my own life, but Gossip Girl isn't my own life (thankfully) and it's so much more interesting like this.
Yeah, agreed! There's so many couples that start out incredibly OTP and in love with each other and then take foreveeer to moon over each other and get the ball rolling physically. That is not Blair and Chuck. :) It feels so refreshing to see a relationship start with people being super hot for each other and handsy and then having to deal with the whole being-in-love part. Especially since Chuck is so straightforward about his catching feelings for her. XD Plus I love the idea that sex and love are so intertwined for them. Like the sex is never like any other sex for Chuck because he had feelings for her from the beginning. And whenever they fall into "hate sex" in later seasons... it's never actually very hate-sexy since as soon as they start with all the sexing, the get all drawn back into the loooove. :D Idk, it seems like it could have been cliched but the friendship + sex = love really works for me here. :DDD

Me either, I have a much easier time making friends on lj too. I think on tumblr, I get lost in viewing so much material and the ease of just reblogging and hiding all my thoughts in the tags. It all adds up to less conversation with people. Maybe other people are better at posting giant walls of text there than I am. It's not like I was ever that dedicated to lj but I definitely miss the conversations I've had here. Maybe people will wander back, the comment system just hasn't been successfully duplicated elsewhere yet! ♥

On that note, nice talking to you! :D
