Found this quote on the lid of my favorite flavor of tea: "If at first the idea is not absurd, then there is no hope for it." Albert Einstein
More in the saga of my exciting work schedule since I know you are all panting to hear. Got called in early to do an extra 4 hours starting at 11 am which will make a 12 hour shift. Yay, extra money and the staffer called over an hour ago and hasn't called back to rescind. This extra cash will be helpful for going to Disneyland next month, especially since Demelza's new gold crown was pricey!
In other news, since I hadn't been able to ascertain when the last season of Lewis will air in the US, I have found it on Youtube. So VERY happy to get my fix of Hathaway and Lewis. Luckily, the new girl, Maddox, is often sent off to do things off screen, leaving James and Robbie to get on with their love affair. And James proclaimed in ep two that he wasn't planning on getting a tattoo but was more of a piercing man. What fodder for fic! He's also taken to calling Lewis Robert instead of Robbie now that they are equals in rank.
Still reading The Girl in the Spider's Web. Enjoyable, and I like the style of whomever translated far, far better than the person who did the original stories. Or maybe it's also the writing style of the two authors. Stieg Larsson really could go off on a tangent and it would take forever and a day to get back to the main plot. David Lagercrantz continues in the really long-winded style with lots of what seems like extraneous detail but he sticks to the plot far more and throws in far less unnecessary trivia.
Having dinner with my sister tomorrow night so Demelza and I can introduce her to our very favorite-ist Alice in Wonderland, the one with Johnny Depp. Demelza had a poster of the film long before we saw it the opening weekend and I thought Depp looked so creepy. Then I saw the movie and fell hard for the disturbed yet incredibly sweet Mad Hatter and his love for Alice. Even my mother, who is not into shipping at all, thought Hatter and Alice were in love at the end of the movie. We want to get Lesley into our Hatter and Alice fan club so that we can all go out to see the sequel when it opens May 27. Demelza has the date memorized.
Ta ta.
