...If you wanted to share some kind of message with a younger version of yourself, what would you say?

[Simon's in the plaza today, hanging out by the fountain and pondering his journal. At some point he might be scribbling out a note on a loose sheet of paper.]

pondering one's fate, garlock

Not really sure what I'd say. If I warn them about things to happen, then they'll never happen, which would void me being at this point in my life and being able to warn myself. Telling them everything will work out fine sounds all right on paper, but it glosses over the parts where things won't be fine when they get to them. And telling them that it's going to be a crap shoot sometimes...well, that's not to good for the ego, either.

So...actually...probably nothing.

Maybe that's for the best. Empty promises or cruel warnings would probably just make life harder for yourself.

Definitely make life more confusing.

It's a hard call to make- to hope for a better life or feel content that you're not making it worse.

Or realize that if you step down from your own life, someone somewhere else might be the one who will have to live it.

That's true. If you don't follow the path your life's put you on, someone else might have to carry that burden.

...Thanks for your help, anyway. It's something to think about.

Hmn.

...Look at it this way, if you made it to be old enough to want to warn your younger self, then something at least went right.

I can't deny that. It's not as if my experiences were nothing but bad. I've had a good life.
