My roommate disappeared a few weeks ago. I didn't know her well, but... contrary to what I've heard of other arrangements, she was always kind. Is it a curse or a blessing that I didn't have the time to know her well? For the island to give and take as it pleases is unnatural. That judgment is fit only for the goddess to give.
Even though I remember -- I find I'm remembering quickly -- everything seems so far away. Like this is all one long continuous dream. But clear as day, I feel the goddess's presence with me. I am awake, and she is here.
