My friend Tammy (1lady_so_divine) had her baby on Monday morning, so I am now three times an auntie. She had a boy, Logan Trent, and everyone is healthy and well. And Logan's birthday will be easy to remember since it is two days after mine

I studied Literature at University for 3 years and I think I encountered most kinds of snobbery then. Heh, one of my professors, when holding tutorials on fantasy/sci fi and horror said much the same as yours... as Fantasy?sci fi has always been a passion of mine and I did a lot of reading about them as well as reading the gengres I objected *LOL* he ended up giving the class to me and taking notes. He was nice.
But yes those genres are alwasys accused of being formualic and light entertainment only and so on by people never taking their time to read them. In all honesty all genres has their formulas, like romance, or history, or thrillers... but all genres also have some really well told stories that are well worth reading. At the moment me and shaun are both into darker fantasty which (opposed to people's view of fantasy in particular) is nothing I would ever put in the hands of anyone under 18. It is great :D
