So I had my mom drive me to the emergency room at 330 this morning. I had been having some weird lower back pain but it hadn't been too bad until I woke up at 245 in the morning in searing pain. I usually could find some way to position myself where it wouldn't hurt but this morning, sitting, standing, laying down and walking was almost unbearable pain. I'm not the type to blow things out of proportion with my body but one thing that I've always firmly believed is that if you wake up from a deep sleep in pain and don't fall back asleep, there's something seriously wrong.

So I had m mom take me to the hospital and there was no other patients in the waiting room so they took me in quickly. I wasn't life threatening so they just had me wait on a stretcher in the hallway. Doctor came and asked questions (he was quite the looker, btw) and then felt around on my body. Half an hour later, they asked me for a urine sample.

Three hours into the night, so it's 630 by now, they came back with the lab results. Doc said I strained a majority of the muscles in my lower back but the reason the pain was so deep and intense was because I have the makings of a major kidney infection. As of right now, it's minor but if they didn't catch it now then it would have lead to serious infection and possibly the removal of my right kidney.

So I'm okay but I knew that it was more than lower back pain. They have me on prescription strength ibuprofen, a muscle relaxer, and an antibiotic for the infection. I feel much better but the muscle relaxer makes me take two hour catnaps every time I take it. So I'm not dying anymore :)
