So for the first half of the program I'll be taking:
1. Recording Project - I'll be attending classes to learn studio techniques and skills in prep for tracking and mixing my project (We all have to create an original album). this includes class time, rehearsal, recording/mixing time and labs...
2. Recording Career strategies - I'll be taking courses on how to create news and press releases to publicize and promote the live show and cd including an industry standard press kit. Also gonna learn how to market and publicize an independent cd, start an independent record label, bar codes, cover art, getting the cd into stores... etc etc.
3. Recording Techniques - including fundemental recording theory/techniques, signal flow basics, mics, signal efx processors, etc etc.
4. Computer Recording - Midi sequencing, sampling and hard disc recording. This ought to be fairly easy, I already know some of it.
5. Digital Media - image development, graphic design, cover art, music websites... fun stuff
6. Song Analysis Workshop - This one I'm gonna love. Others in the class critique and analyze your songs, recording methods, arranging, production...
7. Private Lessons - I finally get to take Piano again. Theres so much I need to refresh and remember.
8. Elective - Songwriters Workshop - this is different from the analysis workshop. this focuses on the actual construction of a song. The correct elements, chorus, bridge, etc etc and how to use them effectively. Something I've always had a problem with.
Add to all this labs, studio time, rehearsal time, homework, practice... I'm gonna get buried, which is just what I want. On top of all that I'm going to try to start a group of my own. Better stock up on vitamins, caffiene, and diet pills... LOL
