just keep swimming, swimming, swimming....

I can't believe I'm actually pulling this off. I really didn't think I'd be able to do it without losing my mind.

Okay, I might not be losing my mind... But I'm definitely going to lose some sleep tonight.

After I make this last post for this week's Master's work, I'll be able to email the professor to remind him that I will be gone for the next three weeks and that I'll catch up on the work when I return. Master's work: Check.

Tomorrow, I have to run the following errands/complete the following tasks before I leave:

1. Go to both schools and give the secretaries my checkout sheets. I have completed picking up my rooms for the most part and have finished all grades, printouts, and orders. Also, print out the articles from the last few weeks of my Master's class so I have them on the airplane/coach to read.

2. Go to Meijer and pick up a gift card for my friend who is getting married. Possibly also pick up a sleeveless top or two that has wide straps.

3. Mail Father's Day, graduation, and wedding cards.

4. Call the veterinary teaching hospital to set up an appointment for OJ to get a biopsy done of the tumor in her eye.

5. Call my credit card company and bank to put a note on my account that I will be using my cards out of the country.

I'm sure there's more, but I'll have to consult the written list later. A few exciting tidbits of the day:

A. Keith and I bought a new point-and-shoot camera for us to use on travels like this. Our bigger cameras are too cumbersome for the on-the-go nature of these trips and we both wanted something smaller yet just as functional. The one we bought was on sale and has the same amount of zoom as my bigger camera, 10 MORE megapixels than my camera, and lots of other nice, user-friendly features. We were both very excited and I get to christen it on this trip. I hope to come out with some incredible pictures this time.

B. We picked out some dishes for our registry. So domestic!

C. Keith took me to this place called the Fleetwood Diner today after church because I was craving pancakes and bacon. I got both and I got something that this place calls "Hippie Hash," which sounds pretty trippy but is very tasty - hash browns with grilled tomatoes, green peppers, and broccoli, sprinkled with feta cheese. It was delicious!

D. We went to Barnes & Noble to get some reading material for me on the trip (I always pick out a series my students are reading and read it over the summer so I stay on top of their reading appetites) and were introduced to the mouthwatering Barnes & Noble "Nook." What is the Nook? It's the B&N version of the Amazon Kindle and man, I can't believe how much I want one now. I don't usually drool over electronic gadgets (iPad, eat your heart out), but this one... This one is awesome. I don't really feel like going into details, but you can check it out online at the B&N site. Keith and I decided that we would buy one soon for his bookavore son, whose birthday is in September... I think Ben is going to flip out when he opens it. Both of us had the hair on our arms stand up a few times while we were being introduced to it. Way, way cool.

Okay, nose to the grindstone now. Only this post, then bed....
