Day 9. 12:22.
Milan continues to be amazing and I'll be sad when I have to leave. I've booked an overnight train trip to Barcelona and will arrive there at 9am on Saturday. I still don't have a room but I've emailed a hostel and hopefully they will mail me back soon. The inter-rail pass I spent £300 on doesn't look like it was worth it. The trip from Milan to Barcelona cost 59 euros which is less than £40 which wouldn't get me half way up the country if I was in England.
I've still got no grasp of the lingo here but as I'm leaving I don't think that matters. I'm only in Spain for a few days so I'll be just as useless with communicating and have less time to pick anything up. I am trying to remember some of the very small amount of Spanish I've learnt from times I've been to Spain and the Spanish and Italian languages are very similar.
I'm hoping the hostel in Barca doesn't have a lock-out as I'm getting annoyed with being woken up at 7am and then having to get up, pack and make sure I've got everything I need for the day. I want to lie in!
The mosquitos apparently have no respect for the tourists in Milan. I counted 10 bites on my left shoulder this morning and about 8 on my right. These bites are on top of the rope burns I have from my heavy day-bag. I'm not going to start counting the bites on my legs.
Ciao/Adios!
