If you haven't seen this yet, Slate has an article by someone who tried to retrace the route the sneakers team took to find Playtronics. I hope this isn't too far off topic, but the article does mention Whistler.

I really wanted to write a fanfic for the first movie we watched. Of course, I made life more difficult by chosing a movie where he had no love interest. *head desk* People tell me you don't have to write romance all the time, but Whistler needs to get some. :)
