Yesterday morning the telly wasn't working due to some problem with the Sky box. Tried to switch on newish radio/ipod player machine in the kitchen. No joy - it wanted an ipod. Phoned Craig on his way to work for instructions. Use the remote he said. Didn't know that was it's remote - thought it was yet another telephone. Followed step by step instructions and finally made do with Radio Scotland because couldn't find Terry Wogan.
I fondly remember the days when it was possible to sort out the horizontal hold on the TV by twiddling the knobs at the back and the thrill of finding Radio Luxembourg on my Grandma's ancient wireless.
Craig appeared with an enormous box last week. Another ipod player cum CD player - to go in the dining room. It's big black and shiny and cost £600! I've no idea how it works. And yesterday I got home to find he's been to Tesco and bought an ipod player for the front hall so we can enjoy his music when we sit outside of an evening.
Now, he mused, we should really have one for the spare room for our guests! Help! At the last count we had 12 control units and I can only operate 1.
