Bearsted and Bromley Visit

Nov 21, 2012 20:32

Today I did a couple of visits on a day that turned out to be very wet and windy. After posting off a few books from sales on the Play Trade site, I first took the bus over to Maidstone and the village of Bearsted to do a pub visit. Being a Green King tied house they had the usual IPA but also a couple of alternatives. I tried one of each, a pint of White Horse War Horse (4.9 % ABV) and a pint of Green King 1799 (4.5 % ABV).

Then I took a train up from the village to Bromley to do a charity shop visit. I bought two books, a DVD and a couple of CD's for five quid in total.

The DVD is “Lost In Translation” , a film that has been one of my favourite for many years.

The books are -

Melissa Katsoulis “Telling Tales” (Constable)
Naomi Klein “No Logo” (Fire & Water)

One of the CD's is for my cousin and the other is the follow up to “Endtroducing” by D.J. Shadow “The Private Press”. Another fine slice of turntablism form the master of sampling and scratching. I think it is filed under trip hop.

books, film, music
