Storm - Day 4

May 01, 2011 23:10

Well that was a pretty disappointing phone call.

Last night a member of the board called me to inform me that - well - removing my boat is not their problem. They can't use the big crane because it take 2-4 hours to set up, which they'd have to do in front of my boat to move it, then break down, move over and set up again in their proper location.

So the Board feels I'll have to get my own crane in. That's about $600.

I asked why, as a fully paid up senior, the club is not taking care of me. The response is that I was not on a designated mooring. I was on a mooring that was dropped in the middle of the harbour temporarily. I'm not sure what the difference is. If my boat had been where it belonged, it still would have been washed away. Apparently, that would have been OK because then it would have washed up on shore instead of on the hard.

Anyway, they figure my insurance should cover the cost. I guess i'd better check to see if I have insurance on my boat eh? Even if I do, there'll be a deductible, so....

Anyway, the board member capitulated and  offered to try to arrange splitting the cost 50/50 with me...

Well...

I figure I can do even better than that.

All I need are some 2x4s and a winch.

Alley...

Oop!

... and about 4x more testosterone.

4 boys and a girl - a study in yellow!
