I can be so shy sometimes, especially at tutoring. I got a personal thank you from a couple of the employees at the charity where I tutor on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I mailed in a donation a couple days ago and they were thanking me for that. I wasn't expecting it. They also told me that they thought it was really cool that I use Batman checks ( Read more... )

The tough part of tutoring (and life in general, for me at least) is learning my limits. I can't do it all. I can only do so much. There are some things that I don't have the knowledge or abilities to deal with and others that I don't have the time or energy to deal with; and regardless of how helpful it might be on one level to acknowledge ( Read more... )

I went to tutoring tonight. It went okay. There are some students who I've tutored who exude an energy that speaks to me, that I can feed off of and come back with something for them. I don't feel that way about the student I am currently working with on Thursday nights. Maybe that will change. He's more of a taker than a giver, or at least that's ( Read more... )

No bones about it... Farmville is very addictive. I only play in the evenings, but here I am up late once again harvesting crops, redesigning my farm, rearranging my animals, and planting new crops. *sigh*

I was supposed to start up again a couple weeks ago but for the past couple weeks my student (the same one that I have tutored for the past three years) wasn't there.
