Background: I had Germany defeat France in 1914 by gating a German army to within 20 miles south of Paris starting August 1st of that year. Not all at once of course, but swiftly enough that the French could not overwhelm the invaders and save the day. I told Eric this at a Conjecture a few years back, and his reaction was, "Ack! How could you!?"
