Sukiyaki Western Django is not a good movie.

A while ago, my friend Ray brought over a DVD of a movie entitles “Sukiyaki Western Django.” I had never heard of it, and Ray seemed oddly hesitant about sharing it. It was plain that he wanted to do so, not only in that he wished to watch it himself, but I think, wisely, he did not wish to watch it alone.

This was very wise of him.

No problem. Save your money.

And then spend it on a rental of Battlefield Earth, instead.

The visionary genius of L. Ron Hubbard is unrepresented in your fine establishment? What's the matter? Do they have some fucking /b/tards working there or something?

No, but seriously. I snuck into the theatre to watch that crap-fest because I had deep misgivings about it. By the end, I was so angry, I almost demanded my money back in spite of this. I then decided to walk home from the theatre instead of taking the bus, even though doing so took nearly two hours. The reason I did this is so I could see more people on the way there and could warn each of them "Whatever you do, don't see Battlefield Earth!"

I'll never forget this one dude. I told him that, and he just put his head in his hands, sighed deeply and then looked up at me with these haunted eyes, and he says to me "Too late, man... too late."

Explanation:

The movie was the Japanese equivalent to a "Spaghetti Western". The term was conceived, noting that Italian actors were used to play indians in cowboy movies because of their dark skin.
Spaghetti = Italian = Racisim = HUUUUR.

"Sukiyaki Western" makes sense now, right?
"Django" is another term for "Spaghetti Western"

"Sushi Western Spaghetti Western" (working title) by Quentin Tarantino.

I'm saying that if you're going to watch it at all, it had best be in the company of like-minded friends. Otherwise, you are likely to be injured by the stupid.

Just for future reference, if I ever start a brain-in-a-jar company you're first on the list.

There is! I recall now that it was at around the time that I heard that noise that I began to speculate as to variant ethnicities for the supporting cast.

And moreover, "If they can be playing a traditional Australian instrument, then why not a player piano?".

I had actually forgotten why I brought the player piano up at all. I knew there was a reason why that occurred to me!
