It's all in the oil

I tried some more popcorn for my crew at work, only this time I used the 'pre-measured' packets for the 8 oz. kettle. (Includes the proper amounts of red coconut oil (which is actually more of a hard paste at room temp), popcorn, and seasoned salt.) In this case, it's good. It's just like I remember it from the early '70s, when I was a projectionist at the local theater (absolutely the greatest job for a high school student who loves movies - and I got all the free popcorn I could eat).

We have a movie-style popcorn machine at work (actually three - one in each building of development) and they buy pre-measured oil+butter+popcorn packets by the case. The popcorn that comes out is quite good, even though I generally try to avoid popcorn because my teeth seem to have evolved specifically to catch every hull and leave me picking them out for an hour afterwards.
