I got tired of reediting that last post.

List of things I want/need to do before I kill myself (aka, "travel back to school"):

- email department boss and explain my plans to be back this summer/fall,
along with contact info for the school coop requirement person for my major.- start gathering up my things from work

Those loud cracking noises do sound scary, especially if they aren't something your house does every year! Apparently they are caused by temperature differentials.

yeah! it musta been a record low last night- checked the temp this morning, and it was negative Fahrenheit! (only by a few degrees, but dang! Epic, and not just for the temp, since it was in the 50-60's last week! Rargh gimme the spring weather back.)

Still startled the heck out of me, big CRACK! like a snapping tree or something, right nearly in the room with me. And later, when I heard a few from along the same floor, further away.
The timing was just horribly ironic though.
