Tree I:
Draco shows up to volunteer for the maze. Ice requests his qualifications, and though he wasn't on her premade list of people to encourage to join, she agrees he seems well suited. Assuring her that she'll let him know no later that that evening, Ice puts him down for consideration before he heads out.
Tree II:
Quinn comes by, volunteering for the maze with no preamble. Ice asks for his qualifications, which he recites to her. They discuss what she knows of the maze (which isn't much) before he opts to remain a volunteer. After ascertaining his position, he takes his leave.
As much as she disliked settling at the lower desk, she thought it was a better idea, given that she'd very likely be interviewing people most of the day. She was displeased by the idea of any of hers tangling with any of Riverfell's residents. She'd already made a list of people that she hoped would volunteer ... but unless they actually stepped up, or unless she needed people to fill in gaps, she'd let them alone.
She hadn't asked Severus, but she did hope he'd consider it. Well, she both hoped and feared that he would.
Gazing at the blank sheet of paper in front of her, Ice tapped her pen lightly against the edge of the desk as she waited to see who - if anyone - was going to show up today.
