He sighed, whimpering almost, and kept walking.

His shoulders hunched as his body bent a little, hands briefly touching the sand before he righted himself. His wand was, for the moment, forgotten high in his sleeve ... though he might recall he had it later.
"You there," he called, his voice a barking growl as he moved closer. Sunken eyes gleamed dully as he looked forward to where this might go.

"Y-yeah?" he stammered, voice barely above a whisper.
He shoved his hand into his back pocket, checking for the knife he always kept there. He wasn't a good hand at it, but he felt better for having it all the same.

But no. He was here. He was really here. He'd take advantage of that. Damion had said to have fun ... and Fenrir thought he would. "You mind tellin' me where I am?" he said in his best 'I'm a polite wizard' voice - though the grinning leer and gleaming eyes might belie his tone.

"DauphinMare?" he supplied finally, "Something about a bubble and a war and ... well, I still don't know if I believe half of it cause it still sounds like horse shit, but that's what they tell me. So, uh, you new or something?"

He brushed his claw-like nails down the front of his shirt, a faint grunt crossing his lips as he shifted his weight, focusing very intently on the boy.

"Kai," he replied, "Kai Brennan. Uh, and you would be?"
That sounded kind of formal, which was more on account of he was nervous than anything else. That, and something with tentacles was creeping up behind Fenrir and he couldn't figure out which made him more jumpy. Either way, he was lapsing into the default 'I'm gonna get beats if I don't shape up mode' he'd learned under Ming.

He flicked his gaze over the beach, up toward the grass, but he didn't see anyone. Or scent anyone. So he grinned.
Still, he wasn't going to just attack him here, where anyone could see, if they had a mind too. Instead, he nodded back toward the cove. "Want t'see something neat?" he baited.

"Uh, like what?" he asked, running his hand through his hair and shifting uncomfortably again, trying to convince himself that no, that was not a scarab beetle climbing up his leg. It was only half working.

If he wasn't ... well, Fenrir would go explore around a bit more.
He should, he reasoned. He should see what else the town had to offer before he was rushed home. Maybe he could find something soft and younger than the boy.

"So Fenrir," he said conversationally after a second and third glance over his shoulders and accompanying winces, "What do you do then?"
Because everyone did something, really. Except ... well, he hadn't heard what that guy in the suit was good for. But he must've been good for something.

What did he do, really? He killed. Maimed, ravaged, devoured, raped, destroyed. He grinned, yellowed teeth bared with the lifting of his lips. "I do lots of things," he murmured, his voice a faint growl.

Usually only to have them stolen from him, but that wasn't the point, really.

He didn't really want to chat, but what if he recruited someone? What if he stole someone from here to bring them there? He knew this place had stolen a few of theirs ...why not the other way?
He might get praised for bringing in an informant. He wasn't sure what sort of praise he'd get, but ...it was an idea worth investigating.

"Guess not," he admitted, "I never thought about it. I mean, I just kind of took it for granted that I was meant to be here. I mean, this is where I ended up, right? I guess sometimes Order needs things stolen?"
Alright so that was a stretch, but still. He wondered if he'd even have been able to survive the other side if he'd been over there. He was barely adjusting here, and people were nice. From what he'd heard, that couldn't be said of the other side.

Maybe the boy had a surprise or two up his sleeve.
