I had no idea they were doing a new comic!
I own both the first 2 series graphic novels and while the first one was decidedly MEH on all counts, the second one was actually pretty cool.
So now they're doing a new 6 comic series! I am so totally excited, you guys have to go check this out:
CHECK OUT THE DC COMIC PAGE HERE And also... *drumroll*
PREVIEW PAGES!!
Click here to see what an awesome stalker Dean is and what a freaking awesome pissed bitch Sam is and how Dean is trying to keep the peace. And John Winchester being a dick about Sam graduating from HS.
For those of us who wondered what their interactions were like just before Stanford this'll be it. It's being written by 2 of the Supernatural episode writers, Andrew Dabb and Daniel Loflin. The artist is Diego Olmos who did the Rising Son comics. He's pretty talented and he does good facial expressions.
I'm crossing my fingers that
Dustin Nguyen and
Ryan Snook both do covers for these. I love how Ryan draws John Winchester and Dustin is awesome. (Dustin drew 'chibi' versions of Sam and Dean and
posted it on DA here. So cute!)
Anyways, just wanted to share. I really really want to support this because I think an ongoing Supernatural comic series would be amazing. :)
If you DIDN'T read the previous comics and want in on some totally stunning spoilers for them click the read more link below!
Okay so, remember in the episode 'Bloody Mary' when Dean's eyes start bleeding too? I think the reason may or may not be in the Rising Son comics. At one point eleven year old Dean shoots a hunter who tries to kidnap 7 year old Sam and is threatening his dad. Like. Shoots him dead without flinching. Even John is like...holy shit.
ALSO....this was even creepier to me. John knew something was off about Sam when he was 7 and he went to great lengths to protect him. To the point of hunting down hunters who suspected. HUNTING THEM DOWN AND KILLING THEM. Yeah John Winchester executed (ie murdered) dudes who knew about Sam not being normal. Jesus Fucking Christ. So like...while Dean didn't know what the deal was, he was totally caught up in the frantic protection of Sam.
Anyways, the comic has crazy shit in it. Eric Kripke read over and approved all of it so IDEK, I don't doubt it's cannon-ness but it is some crazy insane shit and kinda wildly cool. :)
Did I space that out enough to avoid spoilerness? D: I hope so. If not tell me! I'll try and fix it.
Anyways, sorry I have been so quiet. I am on deadline for some art. Holy crap, I just realized that in the Sam and Dean Exchange I am doing I am actually getting something back. WHAT. I am not use to this!
