We saw it tonight as well, and share many of the same sentiments. I remember thinking that if he had spent those five years with Batman instead of going off into space, then when he landed on Kryptonite/fortress of Solitude he wouldn't have got his arse handed to him immediately after losing his powers. Batman would have never gone out like that.
My other beef was it was supposed to be a superman movie, and the action was...well rather flat. Kind of like Kate Bosworth's arse. By gods I am not looking for juice booties on a girl, but she had nothing. flat as a board on her posterior! That was just wrong. Though she was better than Katie Holmes, I will give her that.
