mybrothershadow was taken without permission because I'm a thief and his mun loves me. This journal is following an AU version of 3x25 and therefore this stuff isn't spoilery for Peter and Co. And yes, I know Henry is going to be calling people 'dummy heads' all the time now. Oops. ;)
"So, that's it."
Sasha would answer Peter, but she's too busy staring. Now that she's heard everything in too much detail, she's pretty sure that she shouldn't get too comfortable. He's home--for now, and she wonders how long it's going to be before he has to go running off again. Nathan is in a lot of trouble. They have no guarantee that he'll be able to fix as much as he says he will. She still loves him, she's just not dumb enough to trust him right now. It's easy to be sorry when your operation failed.
"I think that was way too big a disaster to close on 'that's it'," she tells him, walking over to the refrigerator and taking out the carrot cake that Mac had made earlier. She sets it down on the counter and cuts three slices; a big one for Peter, and two little ones for herself and Henry. "You should rephrase it to, 'so that's the list of horrible things that have happened to me since the last time we talked'."
Peter shrugs, grabbing forks out of the silverware drawer and picking up two of the plates. "I'm here, with you. Henry's going to stuff my face with cake as soon as we set the plates down. Yeah, it was horrible but...it's over." He starts for the living room, and Sasha grabs her plate and follows him out.
"Are you sure?" she fakes a bright smile for Henry and sets her plates down, picking him up and sitting down on the couch with him. "You're gonna love the cake Mac made for you. It's so good," Sasha tells Henry, tickling his sides until he giggles, then picking up his little fork and handing it to him.
Peter joins them and picks up Henry, sitting him and his piece of cake on his lap. "This is pretty awesome, isn't it?" He nods to Sasha, watching Henry at first, not saying anything until she clears her throat. "I wouldn't be home if I wasn't. I promise." When he looks over at her, he's smirking. "I thought you missed me."
Sasha rolls her eyes, stabbing at the cake with her fork and taking a bite. "I shouldn't even dignify that with an answer. You're such a--" dumb ass, is what she's thinking. She just won't say that around Henry. "Dummy head," she teases, watching Henry poke at his cake with his fingers. "Fork!"
"Better like this," Henry explains, licking some of the cream cheese icing off of his fingers. He lifts his fork to hand it to her. "You have it."
"I already have one, thank you very much," she smiles, guiding Henry's hand with the fork in it back to his plate, gently helping and forcing him to use it. "Big boys use forks. Peter uses a fork. Show him, Peter." She figures she can use him as the example now, that's what he's there for.
Peter picks up his fork, getting a piece on it that is too big and shoving it into his mouth anyway. Henry giggles in response and imitates him, having to push the rest of what's on his fork into his mouth with his hands.
She's amused, and she should have known. "Nevermind, Henry. Do what I do." She shakes her head at Peter, leaning back against the side of the couch when he moves in to kiss her. "How a dummy head like you always manages to save the world, I'm never going to know."
