Dating someone famous?
Hello datinandrelatin! First post here, with a question that's hasn't been hashed to death before, hopefully! Anyway, my question is exactly as the title suggests: has anyone ever dated someone famous or semi-famous? What was the experience like? Any tips you can impart to me?
See, I'm interested in a guy. He's in a band that's fairly popular, has nearly a thousand fans online, and frequently travel to perform concerts where hundreds attend. The biggest concert he's had had about 800 in attendance, to give you an idea. No, if he's just walking down the street, he probably won't be recognized, but he does have an online presence. I'm not really worried about him hooking up with his fans because although he's very attractive, we talk so frequently about everything that unless he cloned himself, I don't think he has the time or energy for anyone else.
What I'm kind of concerned about is the way his fans will treat me. We're not public yet and probably won't be for a while because we're still trying to work everything out before we decide to become official. One of his band mates is his brother and from what I can see the fans treat his brother's girlfriend really well and are supportive of their relationship.
I guess I'm worried because I'm a fairly private person and I'm afraid of becoming gossip for his fans. He has had trouble with trolls recently where they attacked him for every little thing he did and caused him a great amount of stress. I supported him through it, but I just hate the idea of becoming a target for such behavior if we become official and public about our relationship.
Anyway, just wanted some insights from people who might have any ideas. I mean I have most of the basics down: my FB, and most other social media profiles, has always been private and friends-only because I know how trolls like to take things out of context. But does anyone have any other advice or comments? I'm all ears! Thanks!
