Eiji was comforted somewhat by the fact that Renji had held his hand lightly all the way to his house. Renji didn't really ask Eiji to come over; he just brought him back home with him and led him up to his room. Eiji stood and looked around Renji's tidy room, taking in the details. There was a television area with a Playstation and DVD player in the console beneath it, an exceptionally neat desk, and a small area near the bed that looked like a good place to sit and watch movies. Eiji plopped down and leaned against the wall watching Renji take things out of his closet. They hadn't said anything since leaving Disneyworld. Eiji had to say something. "Thanks for, um, having me over, Renji-kun."

Renji was glad Kikumaru said something, since he had had no idea what to say himself. Grabbing the last blanket from his closet, he turned around to find Eiji sitting on his floor, looking extremely... meek. The sight made Renji smile a little. After setting the blankets down on his bed, Renji went to sit down next to Eiji. "I did promise you, Kikumaru-kun, that you could come over. There's no need to thank me."

Eiji made note of Renji's switch, "Kikumaru-kun", and shook his head slightly with a smile. "Saa, of course I should thank you." He bumped his shoulder against Renji's quickly and sat back. He didn't realize how much he needed to sit down until now. The cushion he was leaning against was so comfortable and his legs were aching. Before he got too comfortable, though, he needed to get ready for bed. He stood up, pulling his toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste from his pocket. "Where is your bathroom, Renji-kun? I need to brush my teeth."

Renji was thankful that Eiji was trying to keep things normal between them, but it still went without saying that something had changed between them. Renji felt bad in that it was probably his fault. He smiled at the sight of Eiji in front of him, toothbrush and toothpaste in hand, like a little boy. "It's just across the hall, Kikumaru-kun."

Eiji started to the door, stopping near the door to pick up his bag with his clothes in it. "Thank you, Renji-kun. I'll be right back."

Eiji didn't want to take a long shower and be rude, but the water felt so nice after such a long day. Eiji was thankful for a moment to be alone and collect his thoughts after all that happened. He hated to admit he was feeling a bit hurt. He rubbed his eyes, water hitting the back of his neck. The heat from the shower was making his eyes burn. Or maybe it was from all the sun today. Eiji sighed.

After his shower, he put on his favorite pajamas (the one with the tennis balls and kittens on them) before brushing his teeth with the new strawberry mango toothpaste he'd bought yesterday. It was really good! Maybe Renji would want to try it. He towelled off his hair and carefully reapplied his bandage to his cheek before heading back to Renji's room, leaving his toothpaste on the counter next to the sink.

Renji changed into his own pajamas while Eiji was in the bathroom, a simple tshirt and pajama pants, before sitting down on the floor to browse through his movies. He heard Eiji come in about 10 minutes later, dropping his bag on the floor again.

"Kikumaru," he said, fingers running along the DVDs as he read them. "What do you want to watch?"

Eiji went over and sat next to Renji, quiet and calm after his shower. Renji was going back to calling him "Kikumaru" still. Eiji sighed and shook his head, smiling slightly. He'd have to remedy that again. "What do you have?" he said, putting a pillow behind him and settling in comfortably.

Renji sat up, scooting back until he hit his bed, leaning against it. "Random movies. You can take your pick."

He couldn't really look at Eiji directly, their earlier conversation still running through his head. Eiji kissing him still running through his head. He settled for playing with the bottom of his shirt absentmindedly.

Renji didn't seem comfortable. He wouldn't look at Eiji anymore. Eiji bit his lip, trying not to frown. He had made Renji uncomfortable with him. How would he fix this? Maybe putting on a movie and then trying to act normally would be a good start.

Eiji leaned over to look at the movies. He hasn't seen The Fellowship of the Ring in a while so he puts that on and hopes its okay with Renji. Kai Doh Maru is a little too short for now.

He sits back, unable to get the feel of Renji's mouth out of his head. Why did he still want to kiss Renji after everything? Renji was pulling at the hem of his shirt. Eiji found this odd as Renji normally didn't fidget like that.

"Renji." he said. "Why are you doing that?"

"Hn?" Renji looked at Eiji briefly before looking down at his hands. He let go of his shirt quickly and forced his hands to stay still in his lap. "Oh. I don't know. Habit, maybe?" Renji glanced up at the TV as the movie started.

"Oh, you picked something?" He hadn't even noticed Eiji's movements for the past minute or so.

"Yes," Eiji said cautiously. "I did. Is this okay?" Eiji thinks this is not at all how things should go and he wants things to be alright between them. He couldn't stand it if this was how they would be from now on.

"Renji," he started. "Are you upset with me now?"

Renji blinked once at Eiji, his face unreadable.

"Upset? What are you talking about? Why would I be upset with you?" His expression turned into one of concern. "Don't think that."

"Renji," he tried again. "You haven't really spoken to me since we left Disney World. Why wouldn't I think something was wrong?" Eiji felt confused. But he was goign to keep trying. "But if you say so, then I believe you."

Eiji stared at Renji, unable to tell anything about how he was feeling. Eiji tried smiling softly at Renji. "Smile, Renji-kun"

Renji did give Eiji a small smile in return, feeling bad for making Eiji think he was angry at him. To be more accurate, Renji was only upset with himself, for making the situation so complicated and awkward.

"I'm sorry, Kikumaru-kun. You were so excited about going to Disneyworld. Did I ruin your day?"

Eiji pushed his knee out to bump against Renji's, staring back at his hands before speaking.

"Nya, Renji. No. No you didn't ruin anything. I had the best day." Eiji bit his lip thinking of just how much fun he'd had. He'd bought Renji ice cream and Renji bought him lunch. They shared pocky and liquorice and rock candy and a huge turkey leg. It had been a great day.

He turned to wink at Renji. "Maybe I ruined it by kissing you, ne?" He smiled warmly.

Renji couldn't help but give a real smile this time; Eiji's personality was like that - contagious.

"No, of course not." Renji paused. "It was only unexpected. You didn't do anything bad, and nothing was ruined. I had a lot of fun with you today. Honest."
