30 Days Meme - Days 1 to 5
You know that 30 days meme that's been going around?
I've decided to do it. I also know I'd be more likely to marry any of my tv boyfriends sooner than update LJ once a day during a month, so I'm grouping them, and we'll see how that goes. After checking out the categories, I've also seen that I'm clearly going to cheat A LOT. It is impossible to reduce some of them to just one answer.
I will also try to answer with pics, cause otherwise this is just BORING.
1. A show that never should have been canceled
(This is where the cheating starts)

I don't think Firefly needs any explanation and Legend of the Seeker... its cancellation has been just a kick in the nuts I really didn't need. I think it's probably the only show it's been canceled while I was *really* into it. Much heartbreak ensued.
2. A show that you wish more people were watching
Legend of the Seeker. It's so damn enjoyable. And even though I know I have said it before, it bears repeating: the ladies in this show. And it's not even just the two main ones (who are awesome on many, many levels), but the supporting ones. Lately, it's getting rarer and rarer to find female characters than don't make me cringe.
This is how the show starts:
The first season was good, entertaining, with pretty people and prettier cinematography. In the second one they brought Cara and they hit it out of the fucking park.
It must be said that, watching Legend of the Seeker for the plot is like watching The X-Files for the mytharc: not many people do it (if any, at all), and anyone who does will probably end up disappointed (it IS a fantasy show, the basics are the basics). Even then, it's extremely entertaining, hilarious at times, and even in the plot-wise lamest episodes the characterization is always top notch, which is more than I can say for most some shows these days. And I won't even talk about the fight scenes cause I'm aware I'm one of the three people that actually give a damn about that shit.
So yeah, I wish more people watched.
(and if for some strange reason this has convinced you to watch and you don't know how, TELL ME. I will provide links/dvds/whatever to make it happen. It wouldn't be the first time)
3. Your favorite new show (aired this season)
Misfits. Although to be fair, it's actually the only new show that I've watched complete this year. I think I may have started a couple more, but Misfits's the only one I will probably keep watching. I remember thinking through the whole pilot how impressive it was.
4. Your favorite show ever
Although with The X-Files it's never been just about the show. And also because it was The Only Show for many, many years, had the Best First Fandom anyone could ask for and had introduced me to the World of Fanfiction, where I've spent a ridiculous amount of time. It's actually kind of mind-boggling to think how different things could have been without it in my life.
5. A show you hate
I don't really *hate* any show but I tend to scoff every time shows I consider ridiculously overrated are given chances good shows don't (cough gleerenewedforathirdseason cough).
Although, if I had to say a specific show, the one that'd probably come closer would be Stargate-1. I just can't believe something that became so fucking mediocre that even Ben Browder and Claudia Black couldn't make it bearable got 10 fucking seasons and several movies while shows like Firefly get canceled. I just don't understand.
At the very least, SG-1 gave the world this, hence the non-hate:
