After over a year of "Oz"-related madness, MSI has finally moved on, and auditions for "Dead Air" have officially been scheduled for July 27th and August 3rd, 6-9pm, at Sorge's in Corning. This is the show that should have happened last year, but is thankfully as timely as it was last year (or the year before, when it was a series of vignettes in my head). At the same time, MSI is reviving one of our most fun shows, "Pirates of Pink Pants" for a one-off Saturday show in October. This means that I'm (sort of) doing four shows at once again! Here's a rundown of roles, for those keeping track....

OKLAHOMA - ALI HAKIM (August 1-3)
Six scenes, 1.5 songs, plenty of fun lines, dancing, and kissing.

EVITA - CHE GUEVARA (October 3-5,9-11)
Nearly every scene, lots of songs, some dancing, and great lines.

DEAD AIR - CAMERA GUY #1 (Oct 17,24,31, Nov 7,14,21)
Not a main character, one or two lines, little rehearsing, simply tapes the show. :-)

PIRATES IN PINK PANTS - FIRST MATE STEVE (October 18)
Supporting, several lines and scenes, a fun song, already performed eight times.

That's four shows in three months, with three all in one month! Obviously, I'm really only carrying the weight of learning two anew (the musicals), but by now, you know how I strive to impress myself with lists and numbers (though just doing a show is also pretty darn cool). If you count Irregular Improv alongside my four other plays from the Spring, that brings me to NINE SHOWS in one year. That's a new feat, and a gratifying thing for someone who missed out on quite a few shows last year. And if I end up doing fairly stress-free Fall/Winter roles in KLP's radio recreation show, and LCP's Scrooge one-act, the list will build a bit more before January, without overwhelming me. The Scarecrow has finally shed his straw.
