I'm gonna cry!
Well, they're tearing down Hogue Hall today. Dr. Martin just sent me this sad/silly ballad about it, and reading it almost made me cry!
I don't normally get too upset about old buildings. I mean, they're just buildings. But Hogue....it has been a constant in my life since way before college. I love the Greenville College campus, and to see a gaping hole where Hogue used to be is going to be like looking at a family photo that is missing a relative who just died. I'm going to be seriously bummed every time I take a walk up to campus. So many memories there. And the catwalk! Uhg! I can't stand it! *sob, sob, sob, sob, sob*
And the worst part is...because Greenville has no money, they're probably going to take a looooooong time to build Hogue's replacement.
I don't know if I can stand to see a gaping hole in the middle of campus. It will be like looking out of my window every day to see that the earth and sky had switched places in the night. Guh. What a punch to the stomach.
On another note....I am going to find out this afternoon whether they have to put Tippy to sleep.
