I just got back from what was easily the best cocktail lounge I have ever visited, Tini Bigs here in Seattle. Amazing skill in the bartenders, reasonably good wait staff, and an impressive set of recipes all their own. This is the sort of bar I aspire to be part of. Anyway, here are a couple of the drinks I had (I bought their recipe book, and I'm copying the recipes straight):
Copa-Banana Martini
3 oz Finlandia Vodka
1 oz Creme de Banana
1 oz pineapple juice
splash sweet and sour mix
banana chips
Shake over ice and strain into martini glass, and garnish with banana chips.
Notes: This was extremely delicious, and the first cocktail I've seen that has a banana taste. Very nice.
Jill-tini
3 oz Finlandia Vodka
1 oz Parfait Amour (an orange liqueur)
1/2 oz Cointreau
1 oz sweet and sour mix
1 oz 7-UP
maraschino cherry
Shake over ice and strain into martini glass, and garnish with cherry.
Notes: Wow. Very lime for the amount of orange in it. Fairly sweet, almost a dessert drink. Would be very nice after dinner.
Bama-tini
1 oz Finlandia Vodka
1 oz Tuaca (an orange and vanilla liqueur)
1/2 oz cranberry juice
1/2 oz orange juice
dash orange bitters
lemon zest
Shake over ice and strain into martini glass, and garnish with lemon zest,
Notes: Named for Barack Obama, this drink is quite good, an excellent blend of flavors. The cranberry is almost invisible, subtly modifying the orange flavors.
