Spain's largest bank Santander will host a digital awards ceremony in the metaverse
As the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry expands, large financial institutions are showing increasing interest in this space, and banking giant Santander is planning an award ceremony to be held in the metaverse.
Santander is going to hold an award ceremony in the Decentraland metaverse on July 14 for its "Santander X Global Challenge | Blockchain".
In particular, the ceremony is the conclusion of a competition held jointly with the Oxentia Foundation, which was attended by about 400 participants. The deadline for submitting applications is June 9, 2022, after which the jury of international experts narrowed the list to 20 finalists.
On July 7, these finalists presented their solutions to Fintech Station, Santander's open innovation team.
At the award ceremony, six winners will receive a total of 120,000 euros (about 121,985 US dollars) - three winning startups will receive 10,000 euros each, and three winners will receive 30,000 euros each. They will also become part of Santander X 100 Bank's global community of entrepreneurs, giving them access to resources such as training, capital, clients and connections.
