It's been a crazy weekend. Some moments were over-the-top-fun, but there were also moments during which I found myself wondering what the fudge I was doing.
Friday:
Exam over and done with! Went out with some girlfriends afterwards; first to Gotland's Nation and then to our beloved V-Dala. Stole some food in the kitchen (mashed potatoes, yum) and went home at one o'clock after having walked and danced my feet bloody.
Saturday:
I was supposed to play football with the farce group, but as long as I'm on antibiotics I have been told to take it easy. Instead, I started daubing paint onto an empty canvas (for the first time since December), and then I had dinner with my brother's best friend at an Indian restaurant. Ended up just sitting there for hours, having an absolutely great time.
Sunday:
The day before Walpurgis, or Valborg in Swedish, is unofficially known as Kvalborg -- "kval" meaning anguish. This was a correct term to apply to this day. I didn't do much; there was this meeting with the Conservative Student Party (you would never have guessed that I'm a member of this party, now, would you?) and then it was time to go to work.
First I waitressed at a sitting; the Nation's Library Committee had a little get-together, and then I joined the bar crew to work in one of the bars -- there was a live band playing at V-Dala, and there was music being pumped out on two dance floors, and there were lots... and lots... and lots... of very drunk people. This one girl threw up all over the bar counter. To witness such misery... ouch. And I was the one selling her alcoholic beverages. Damn, I feel guilty.
Went to bed at five o'clock.
Monday:
Walpurgis! The day started with me crawling dead tired out of bed (we got home rather late after having cleaned the bars yesterday) and meandering off to the nation to attend the Formal Landskap, during which lucky people are awarded with scholarships and premiums.
The day continued with me trudging off to, once more, work in the bar; this time at the so called "champagne gallop". Champagne was sold, champagne was sprayed all over the floor, champagne was consumed in large quantities, and champagne was poured over innocent people. It was wild.
The rest of the day was spent in the company of the farce group. After hanging at Teresa's for a while, Charlii, Neko, Ames, Sasha and I went to listen to the Common Quire, who have a tradition of "singing in the spring" just outside Uppsala Castle. Then we had an afterparty at Mattias's. The lot of us almost fell asleep in Mattias's bed, but as we realised that he needed it for himself, we decided to go home after all. I went to bed reasonably early -- around three o'clock.
Tuesday:
Slept for quite a while, then went upstairs to watch anime with Charlii for a while before going to work. The Technological Students' farce group had a sitting at the nation as a way of celebrating their opening night. It was quite interesting to work in the bar, I tell you. Lots of crazy things happened. I shall not mention them all, as most of the information is not meant for innocent ears and eyes, but I can say that alcoholic beverages, whips in the form of planks, plums and Elvis masks were involved.
Went to bed at half past three. These late nights are killing me.
Oh, what a weekend. I'm glad it's over.
