Just finished a book
Here is a quote that struck me:

I want to hold that in reserve to give my daughter as she starts to travel through the loves of her life. The desire to shield a child from the pain of growing up is a strong one, it's also a futile one. Better to do your best to guide her to becoming as strong a person as she can be, so she can weather the storms of life rather than snapping in the maelstroms to come.
