I love love love fall in Oregon. It’s cool and crisp but still green and sunny. And, as we’ve established before, I’m one of those freaks who likes the constant rain. (If I didn’t live three blocks from work, I imagine I wouldn’t be so fond of inclement weather, natch.) It’s a definite improvement from the summer, when I’d sprawl on my futon in shorts and a tank, praying for a water pipe to burst so I’d be cooler. Now I can actually enjoy the fruits of my knitting, instead of trying to do entrelac while holding the needles at arms length.

Darthlet has officially bought her ticket back to ND, so I’ll be sans roommate again pretty soon. *sadface* Though it did occur to me that while I can’t have a kitty in my apartment, I could get another parakeet. Now that I’m older and less likely to torture the poor thing (heh), I bet I’d do pretty well with a bird. Darthlet has decided that if I do get one, I am required to name it Michael Vartan. She’s never even seen Alias; she just thinks his name is awesome. I miss her already, don’t you?

Speaking of tickets back to the Dakotas, I’ve been checking out prices for going home over Christmas, and it’s looking like it’s the train for me again. As in, a round-trip train ride costs half as much as a plane ticket. It’ll probably be rather more crowded than my last trip, so no spreading out over two seats for me, but 1)it’s still more room than I’d get on a plane anyway, and 2)I can take my knitting on the train without being wrestled to the ground by federal agents.

I got my birthday balloons and card at work today - usually the card is your standard, boring “Have a Great Day!” kind of deal, but Amy picked out a snarky Dilbert card just for me. :D
