Jason Bateman FTW
Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone. I had a fantastic day - I'd asked for it off ages ago, so instead of having to be at work at 8 am, I slept in until about 11:00, and then Darthlet and I went to the Sub Shop for lunch and frozen yogurt. It started bucketing down rain while we were there, which might seem bad, but I've been whining about the lack of rain for months, so it seemed like it was raining just for my birthday. :D After lunch we came back home just long enough to catch the mailman bringing a package of cookies from home before we went to see The Protector. AWESOME. To quote one review I read, "Who needs plot when you've got this much ass-kicking?" Attention elephant thieves: Tonay Jaa will beat you down, and look adorable in his wee Converse sneakers while doing so.
After the movie it was time for supper at Laughing Planet and dessert from Sweet Life. The name of my cake? Chocolate Orgasm. Darthlet had hazlenut pound cake.
Yesterday I left the apartment exactly once, to check the mail. I finally finished one of the knitting projects I brought with me from ND back in March, and we watched the first disc of Season 1 of Arrested Development. Neither of us had seen it before, because we suck. *g* Now we're both addicted, and I've officially got a big goofy crush on Jason Bateman.
Today I tried my first bubble tea in Oregon at one of our favorite Thai restaurants. It was very good, but Houston still wins. There are a couple other places that sell them, so I'll have to do some shopping around.
Two eliminations in one leg? What the hell?! I am confused and freaked out, Phil. Hold me. Anywho, I was pleased to see that my initial pick for favorite team, the Addict Models, turned out to be pretty cool, smart guys. Who may or may not be kind of gay for each other. I'm also fond of the Hotass Asian Brothers, and... um. (Okay, so I have some pretty obvious priorities. Hee.) The Dad And His Gay Daughter team are nice, too. They're supportive of each other, and waaay less annoying than many of the other teams. Like, say, Colin & Christie 2.0. Dudes, it's the first leg. Do you really need to start yelling at each other already? Yes? Well, then.
