Valentine's Day challenge. Using the prompts kisses from my
table and special prompt of candles.
Roy cursed softly as he jumped out of his car and threw his keys to the valet. He was already twenty minutes late for his Valentine's day dinner with Kon and Tim and still had to take the elevator up to the twenty-fifth floor to the restaurant.
He all but ran across the lobby, sidestepping couples coming and going, dodging bellboys, and almost ran head on into a group of nuns to reach the elevators before a group of giggling high school girls got there and be forces to wait longer.
Once inside Roy sagged against the wall catching his breath before smoothing up, straightening out the lines of his tuxedo and straighting his tie. He then checked the inside pocket of his jacket to make sure that the two gift boxes that held the matching gold link bracelets he had got his boys were still there. Once he decided everything was in place, Roy smiled and was ready to spend a nice romantic evening with Kon and Tim.
Roy easily spotted the table that had been reserved for them. It was set back in an alcove near the balcony, giving them a nice view of the dance floor and other tables but giving them a degree of privacy. The table was set with candles and long stem roses. Glasses of champagne were already poured, with the remainder setting in an ice bucket. Plates of appetizers were already there, mushrooms, stuffed with crab meat, crab cakes, and freshly cut fruit.
Kon was the only one at the table, he had taken the jacket of his tux off and unbuttoned the top button to the red vest he wore. He had just picked up a mushroom when he saw Roy approach. “There you are! We were debating weather or not to send out the dogs after you,” Kon said as he placed his treat down as he got up greet Roy properly. He pulled Roy close by the hips, his mouth hot and demanding on Roy's. Roy meet Kon's kiss enthusiastically as he cupped the back of Kon's head. Their tongues twined around each other. Roy hummed in appreciation as they slowly broke the kiss, Roy rang his thumb up and down Kon's jawline as Kon flexed his hands on Roy's hips “Hey there fly boy,” Roy murmured affectionately.
Before he let Roy go, Kon stole one more kiss on his cheek and then went back to his seat with Roy sitting across from him.
“So where's Tim?” Roy asked as he helped himself to a glass of champagne. Kon frowned as he picked up his stuffed mushroom and popped in his mouth. “He kept getting text messages form that lab partner of his.”
“Hart? Thought we convinced him Tim was off limits.”
“Yeah I thought we did too.” Kon grumbled as he picked up another mushroom. “But the dude messaged him four times since we got here. Tim went to go tell the guy off.”
“I didn't go tell him off.” Tim said as he approached the table by way of the balcony. “I explained that I was busy and that I would talk to him tomorrow. . . I'll tell him off then,” a ghost of a smile crossing Tim's face as he ran his fingers through Kon's hair, almost making him purr in pleasure. He eyed Roy as he made his way to his seat between the two saying, “You're late.”
“And you've been paying attention to other guys.” Roy said as he pulled Tim into his lap. He cupped Tim's face with both hands, “You belong to us pretty bird,” he said as he brought Tim's head down for a kiss. The kiss was soft and light, but full of promise of things to come.

The three spent the following hours sharing dinner, conversation, and yes more kisses. Their meal of steak, lobster tail, and salmon was shared between the three of them. Conversation dwelt on past moments shared and embarrassing stories that had them all laughing. When dessert came to the table Kon yanked Tim up by the hand and dragged him to the dance floor, swaying slowly to the music. After a half hour of dancing Tim was able to convince Kon to go back to their table with promise of dessert, only to have Roy claim him for another round of dancing. Kon laughed at Tim's resigned expression as he helped himself to some chocolate cake.
When Tim was able to beg off dancing he easily convinced Roy and Kon to join him out on the balcony for a bit of star gazing. The night was chilled so not many were taking advantage of the romantic setting the balcony held Roy and Tim didn't mind so much with Kon's arms wrapped around each of their waists.
Tim sighed softly, a smile on his usual serious face. “Thank you,” he said softly.
“Thanks for what Timbo?' Roy asked as he raised an eyebrow.
“For making the night special. It's been a while since I enjoyed Valentine's Day.” Tim admitted almost shyly.
Kon and Roy shared a smile as Kon shifted Tim so he was between them. “It's our pleasure Wonder Boy,” Kon breathed in his ear. “Didn't want to be anywhere else.”
“Love you both,” Roy said as he cupped Tim's cheek and and wrapped his arm around him so that is was resting on Kon's hip.
“And the second best thing about tonight is that there hasn't been an emergency all day,” Kon said as he began to kiss the back of Tim's neck.
Roy hummed his agreement as he kissed Tim. One hand cupped Tim's face, holding it still, he nibbled softly at Tim's lower lip till Tim parted his lips for him. Roy moaned as he deepened the kiss, pouring all of the love and passion he felt for Tim into it, leaving no doubt the depth of his emotion that he felt for him. Both him and Kon pressed tightly against Tim, trapping him between. Tim wrapped his arms around Roy's waist as he tried to kiss Roy with the same passion and still bare his neck to Kon, who was busy laying open mouthed kisses up the side of Tim's neck.
The sounds of breaking glass and screaming people was like a bucket of cold water on the trio. They sprang apart from each, easily falling into whatever fighting stance came natural to them.
“What was that you were saying about no emergencies Kon?” Tim asked.
“A booming voice reverberated from the restaurant. “Bring them to me! Bring them all to me!”
“uh . .Kon,” Tim began.
'Already on my way,” Kon said. A blur of motion and and a burst of air and Kon was gone. If either Tim or Roy would have looked up they would have seen Superboy streaking through the air, diving through the broken skylight that the attackers had gone through. As it was they were already half way through changing into their own uniforms.
Superboy's eyes widen at the chaos that the restaurant had descended into. Inky black bipeds swarmed over everything. They were waist hight with gaping maws for mouths and blood red eyes. They destroyed the furniture and attacked the patrons - though they dragged some onto the dance floor in front of a hooded and cloaked man, who had an emblem of a broken heart on his robes.”Yes my pets, bring them to me, the undeserving, the unfaithful, the fickle! So that they all can be punished!”
Kon rolled his eyes, “You're kidding right? An anti-Valentine's Day villain? Come dude, go find yourself a cyber girl or guy and leave the rest of us that have real dates alone.”
“I am so much more than just a villain. I am the one who balances the scales. I am the one punishes the unfaithful. I am HEARTLESS!” The robes man hissed.
“Heartless huh? Well Heartless I have a date and I'd like to get back to it. So can we just skip to the part where I hand you over to the cops and I get back to my life,” Kon said as he started to dive down at the would be villain.
“I don't think so,” Heartless laughed coldly. He stretched out a hand and grabbed a woman by the hand. A purple glow surrounded them both. The woman's skin paled to a grayish-white color and her eyes glassed over and she slumped to the ground. He points his other hand toward Superboy and a black beam shoots out of his hands, nearly hitting Superboy in the chest.
At that same moment an arrow goes flying through the air toward Heartless, as Robin and Red Arrow dropped to the ground on a zip line.
Red Arrow raised an eyebrow as he looked at the inky black creatures that swarmed over the restaurant. “What the heck happened here? And who's the guy in the really bad wizard's robes?”
“Guys this is Heartless. He doesn't have a date.” Superboy says as he touches down next to them.
“That doesn't surprise me.” Red Arrow said as he notched an arrow.
Heartless flings out his arms to his minions and bellows “Kill them all and bring forth the chosen sacrifice.”
As one the ink creatures turned on the three.
“Take them down hard and fast and get the civilians out of here.” Robin said as he whips out his bo staff just in time to fend off one creature as it jumped on him.
“Gladly,” Red Arrow said as he let lose his arrows on the mass of inky black bipeds.
Superboy starts cutting a path to the terrified restaurant patrons. Kicking, punching, and throwing the inky blobs out of his way. Red Arrow drove the little monsters back from the door way at first with his bow and then decided the direct approach of hand to hand was a lot quicker. Not that the little creatures had much of a fighting technique beyond hitting and kicking. One little monster jumped on Superboy's back and bit him on the shoulder. Without thinking Superboy grabs the little ink blot and hurls it across the room. “Man I'm going to have to get a shot when I'm done here.”
Red Arrow shot off an arrow into the gapping maw of one “If your lucky, a shot is all you'll need,” he said as they slowly were getting the people out of the restaurant, while keeping the monsters in.
“Great just what I need. I hate doctors,” Superboy said in frustration as he kicked one more inky creature out of the way.
As Red Arrow and Superboy worked on clearing out the civilians. Robin worked his way to where Heartless was. Robin slowly worked his way through the creatures, fending them off with his bo staff, throwing flash grenades to cause confusion. Surprisingly even his nerve strike worked on them as he slowly worked his way through.
Heartless looked at the advancing hero and raised his hand once more and shot off another black beam. Robin deflected the beam with the tip of his staff. “Give up Heartless. We're getting the people out and you're going to jail.”
Heartless laughed once again. It was high and cold. “I think not hero. This is just the start. I shall consume the hearts of the unfaithful With each heart my power will grow, blanketing this plane of existence in utter chaos.”
Robin flipped back to avoid one more blast from Heartless, taking out a Bird-a-rang and throwing it at Heartless' head. Surprisingly Heartless dodged the thrown object with an almost lazy ease. “I grow bored with this and it seems that my sacrifice had slipped away. So I will end this boredom. Now.” A ball of purple energy formed in Heartless' hand growing in size and brightness, until it blinded everyone in the room. When the light faded Robin, Red Arrow, and Superboy found themselves alone in the room with the the couple of odd restaurant patrons that were left over.
Robin quickly looked over to his partners “Everyone alright?”
Superboy and Red Arrow nodded in the affirmative. “That was . . impressive,” Red Arrow commented. “Do you think he does parties?”

Roy walked out on the balcony caring three glasses of wine. Soft music drifted from the stereo out on to the balcony. Candles were lit bathing Kon and Tim in their light as they danced. Roy smiled as he watched his two lovers sway to the music. All in all it hadn't been a horrible evening stopping the bad guy had only taken up a little bit of the evening and everyone came out okay.
Roy cleared his throat to get others' attention and handed them their glasses. 'Alone a last,” he said waggling his eyebrows making Kon groan. “You have got to come up with some better lines.” Kon said shaking his head. “What do you think Tim? On a scale of one to ten. I'm rating it a four.”
“Hmm,” came Tim's noncommittal answer as he gazed out over the city. Kon pursed his lips and walked over and pinched his lover on the ass.”No brooding Wonder Boy,” Kon scolded as Tim jumped.
“Sorry,” Tim apologized. “Just trying to figure out what Heartless wanted. That sacrifice he mentioned. He was after something - or someone.”
“Probably wanted to get even with some girl he went to high school with who made fun of his braces and acne.” Roy said as he cuddled Tim.
“But, what if . . .ow!” Tim yelped as Kon pinched him again.
Roy laughed as he pulled Tim closer and began dancing.”Tonight's the night for paper hearts and flowers Tim. We can deal with the other stuff tomorrow.”
“Night's still has some hours left. Lets not waste them,” Kon said as he pressed up against Tim, putting his hands on Tim's hips. Tim chuckled as he allowed the two to manhandle him into the dance. He willed all thoughts of Heartless out of his mind, and instead concentrated on Roy's strong arms that encircled him and the steady beat of Kon's heart. “I have good wine, good music, and your love, what else do I need?'
