roguecatwoman 's birthday. Happy Birthday dear.
A slow satisfied smile crossed Selina's face as she looked at the diamond necklace sitting in the open safe. She reached for the treasure that she had spent the last four months planning to take. She paused only when she realized that she was no longer alone in the office. “Were you going to let me do all the work?”
A chuckle emerged from a shadow as Gambit walked forward. “No chere, but Gambit can't be blamed for looking no?”
Selina's smile turned a little harder as she took a stance in front of the safe. She wasn't going to let some sweet talking Cajun ruin months of her hard work. Gambit's smile got wider as his bo staff came out. Selina matched it as she unfurled her whip.
An second that nothing occurred was all that they had before a charged playing card went flying through the air and Selina lunged to the side twisting away. Her whip snapped out cracking as it wrapped around Gambit's staff. For a moment they struggled before Selina won, dragging Gambit's staff from his hands. She flew across the room locking hands with the Cajun. Gambit swung her into the wall, pinning her hands on either side of her head. With a low growl she kicked out driving Gambit back.
Before another kick, punch, or scratch could be landed, a batarang went flying through the open window embedding into the wall and filling the room with a blindingly light.
Selina made her way out by way of the escape route she had planned and when she was three rooftops away she watched grinding her teeth together, as four months planning went up in smoke as the office was over run with Gotham's finest - an edge of a cape could be seen every once in a while.
“Not how de night was suppose ta' go, huh chere?” Gambit said from a few feet away. “T'ink maybe ol' Gambit go back home. Maybe we hook up another time.” he offered as he disappeared into another shadow.
“Maybe next time Cajun,” Selina promised.
