“He's late,” Bruce said as he looked at his watch as the waiter set down his salad in front of him, “again.”
Diana chuckled as she nodded her thanks to the waiter. “He'll be here. He always is.”
“Just like he's always late,” Bruce muttered as he unfolded his napkin.
As if summoned by Bruce's critique, Clark walked through the front door and shown to their table. “Sorry I'm late. Earthquake in southern China.”
Diana smiled and gave Bruce an 'I told you so look', “That's fine, we just got our food.”
Clark picked up a menu and started looking it over when their waiter brought up a plate with a cheese burger and french fries.
“I took the liberty of ordering for you,” Bruce explained at Clark's confused look.
“When did O'Rourke's start doing cheese burgers?”
“They added it to their lunch menu after I asked their head chef,” Bruce said as he took a sip of his water.
Clark grinned as he grabbed the ketchup and covered his fries with it. “Thank you Bruce. You really didn't have to.”
“It was either that or listen to you go on about how no one sells a decent cheese burgers again.”
“Oh no. We're not doing this again,” Diana said shaking her head. “Arguing over food is the only thing you two ever do.”
“I'm pretty sure that's not the only thing we talk about,” Bruce said.
“True you like to analysis our last mission - over and over again.” Diana teased.
Clark grinned waved around a french fry, “Fine no shop talk and no disagreements over the food.”
“So what does that leave us?” Bruce frowned as he took a bite of his salad.
“Hmm Smallville is having it's summer festival soon. You both should grab all the kids and come over. It's tons of fun.”
“Hm bringing Damian to a festival . . .” Bruce mused.
“It might due him some good,” Diana offered. “Give him a perceptive outside of Gotham.”
“He'd love it!,” Clark beamed. “Mr. and Mrs. Winthrop make the absolute best milk shakes. All the kids love them.”
“And here we are back to food,” Bruce said drily.
Diana chuckled as Clark smiled sheepishly.
