“You're not nervous right?” Barbara asked as they drove down the street to her father's house.
“Nope not at all,” Jason said as he slowly drove down the street looking for a place to park.
“Good,” Barbara said as she nodded her head, “Because he's going to love you. This'll be fun.”
Jason barked out a laugh, as he finally found a place and pulled in. “Babsy, your dad is going to do anything but love me.”
“You don't know that. You two have a lot in common,” Barbara said with a bit of a pout.
“You're dad blows up drug houses and pot shots at arms dealers does he?”
“Well he didn't blow it up on purpose,” Barbara said as she maneuvered out of the car and into her chair.
Jason grinned as he got out and grabbed the presents from the trunk, “Still don't think he's going to start inviting me over for the football games on Sunday after this.”
“Okay maybe not, but maybe Sunday dinner?”
“You've been talking to Alfred haven't you.”Jason said as they trudged down the sidewalk, trying to avoid patches of ice.
“No . . .Well maybe. Sunday dinner isn't a form of torture you know,” Barbara said, barely hiding her grin at Jason's distaste for the concept.
“Sure you say that now, but then someone asks for the pasta to be past and then before you know it there's a body to hide.”
Barbara blinked up at Jason, “You go to some pretty interesting dinners.”
“And I don't understand why I don't get invited back,” Jason smirked as he bent down to kiss Barbara's cheek.
Barbara smiled as she tugged Jason closer and kissed him on the mouth. “So what do you do with the body? Prop it up in the corner while you have dessert?”
“Nah . . someone has a hole already dug. We just toss the body in. Usually during the main course.” Jason smirked as he ran his fingers through Barbara's hair.
A brightly lit Christmas tree shone from the living room window. They made they're way in and hung up their coats. “Dad! We're here!” she called as she rolled herself in to the living room.
“Babs, about time you got here, was wondering if I should call,” Jim said as he bent down and hugged his daughter.
“Sorry traffic was horrible and we had to park down the street. Dad this is Jason Todd,” Barbara said as she hugged her Father tightly and then waved over to Jason.
“Don't worry, you're here and that's all that matters.” Jim said ruffling his daughter's hair and straightening up to look at Jason. “Yes Jason Todd. Barbara's talked a lot about you . . .” Jim said as he eyed Jason. “Dick Grayson always dropped you off at the door if I remember correctly.”
Jason gritted his teeth and forced a smile on his face, “I'll have to remember that for the future sir.” He gave Barbara an 'I told you so' look as even she cringed a little. Yep this afternoon was going to be so much fun, Jason could tell already, he wondered how big of a hole Jim Gordon had dug in preparation for today.
