Long time since I last updated this.

Let's see if I can come up with anything worth mentioning. Uh, it's not that nothing goes on in my life, it's just that I don't have much time to post about it. Even now I have a few things I might mention, but where to start?

Hmmmm

I (almost) has new bike thingie! )

I'd give the training a go. You never know, it might turn out to be better than you expected. Remember, training someone in a job is not at all like teaching in a school. For one thing, your 'students' should (more or less) want to be there. And it would be good experience.

Yes well, if I do it, I'll try to start as neutral/objective as possible. And it should, in theory, indeed be people wanting to be there. More so as there's money involved. ;-)

But you could also say that students in college/university are more willing to learn than kids/pupil thingies at school. But that's not always the case either.

As I remember, they should've had some basic training before I get to work with them. But I know from experience that what you get for training isn't always what you need on the work floor itself. Or something like that.

Meh, I think I'm not too much worried about sharing knowledge. That's the main reason my manager suggested me doing that. The thing that worries me the most is having to do some more disciplinary actions. I'd like to see myself as being a nice guy. Don't want to having to do a lot of growling. Seems like a terrible waste of energy. ;-)

For what it's worth, there's an identical tax-evasion scheme for bikes here in the UK, where the employer technically owns the bike until the payments have been taken over 12/18 months (and like you, before tax). I plan to take it up myself after Christmas, for the tax rate over here you tend to save ~20% on the cost of the bike.

I'd agree with Emma, give the training a go. Even if, worst case, it doesn't work out, it's still another feather in your cap for things you've done, and shows you're willing to try new things. But I don't think it would come to that, as you should have fairly willing students.

Yeah, think it's something similar to the bike deal here. Although I'm not exactly sure. I'd probably have to do too much blinking to figure out all the exact rules. And how much I'd exactly save. My income isn't *that* high yet! ;-)

The main thing is I'll soon have a proper bike again. :-)

And yeah, I'll probably give the training (or probably more coaching?) a go.

*blink* For some reason I'd never noticed the duck was a devil duck before. I only ever noticed the ears. Weird.

Anyway, Leander, glad to hear what's going on with you, and I think it'd be a good idea to at least try the training/coaching thing. I've done something kind of similar in my current position and enjoyed it far more than actual teaching.

Yeah, well I haven't heard anything else about the coaching so far. I'll just see what happens. :-)

Did have to show two people the very basics of what we do already. And they were apparently from the group. Or rather, a very *large* group. Say 40 people instead of 10! And I even heard rumours of there being 70. What the...?

Not sure if I'll have to teach *all* of them, though. I think in the end it would be around 10, still. Probably some are for other groups. Plus there could be some that don't make.

Heh, one of the persons I had to quickly show some stuff was more coaching me. LOL. Had some good advice though concerning career/studying. Might look into his suggestion more thoroughly this weekend.
